TCU location
TCU location
I'm getting a few TCU comms errors in the Engine ecu, ABS module and Instrument cluster so want to check the TCU for poor connections etc. Can someone tell me its location on a 2003 RHD please. I had the passenger side carpet up a year or so ago and remember seeing a box with a module inside but thought this was the convenience module.

Re: TCU location
On RHD it's in the passenger's footwell area, and the unit under the passenger's seat is the convenience ECU IIRC.

Re: TCU location
God I'm still confused, Drybeer says it's on the passenger side and launching rs4 says it's on the drivers side.
The only thing I know for sure is Bam hasn't got one on his Avant

Re: TCU location
Ok Shop, I trust you I'll take the passenger side apart. It's strange as I had the passenger side apart a few years ago when I had water coming in up the air con drain funnel. I found the black plastic box but only saw a convenience unit in it.

Re: TCU location
Yes that looks exactly like what I found under my carpet, the casing is plastic. Afaik the TCU has a metal / alloy casing

Re: TCU location
It does. But it's in a plastic box. Also is only has one large connector.

Re: TCU location
Defo under UK drivers side front carpet in a black plastic box. Had mine out last year when sending to Viper.

Re: TCU location
Its definitely under the drivers side front carpet, I had to go in there to confirm I had a MTM TCU. The TCU is a metal case like the ECU but it's enclosed in a plastic box, have to pop that open first to access it. The convenience/comfort unit is under the carpet on the front passenger side.

Bet that cost a small fortune in Australia.
