Yes, virtual cockpit, its great on the TT and Q7, inlcude the google maps feature that I have in my current RS4 and its going to be epic.

I've been thinking a lot about this (how sad am I) - so this virtual dashboard looks impressive eh? I'm a child of the Didgi Dash Metro Turbo and Astra GTE Generation; and the digital dash wash like a young mans wet dream, and that carries on in me....

.....with one thought that makes me nervous - So SAAB's and Porsches (AFAIK) have a dark mode; my 911 (996) Turbo back in 2004 had a button you could press that shut everything down, NAV; most of the clocks; the digital computer screen (DIS) etc etc.... and I grew quite fond of it - you know that moment at night when it's just you and the car; you're on a road you know - or you just simply don't need any information sending to you unless critical (screen used to come back on for low fuel etc etc). That is one of the moments when (sounds sad) I used to really connect with the car, the engine, the feel, you could see the road without any light pollution - as close to me and an engine as you'd get sort of thing. The other time it was useful was when you know that time when you are tired? and the screens bring too much glare - turn them off. Ooh and then there's the track......

As I've been too lazy to read the B8 manual fully so far - I find myself doing it in that; turning the little knob next to the light controls right down low - what would be ideal in the RS4 is if I could just get down to two dimly lit clocks - nothing else on (I'll have a play with that in a bit)

So with the AWESOME virtual fighter pilot style Audi dash; how will that work do you think? - I think probably the RS6 C7 Facelift has it right with the Virtual output displayed on the DIS between the standard clocks.

Whilst I'm on; having watched the B9 video; most of the cool tech outlined - we've already got; so for us the B9 should in theory be:

Lighter
Updated Tech (No major new things)
Bigger (very welcome for me)
More Efficient
Quicker?
Better looking?????

They'll need to inject bucket loads of soul to match the current setup - however I did have the RS4 B5 in 2000; and that engine was cool - but very laggy

I used to love "night mode" in my Saab 9-3 Aero, it was the only thing related to the jet fighters they used for advertising.

It would switch everything off apart from 0 - 90 mph on the speedo, if you went over 90 it would illuminate the rest of the dial. Arrow directions would pop up on the 2nd display on top of the dash when needed and low fuel warnings like you say.

This would be a superb welcome to any car these days but no manufacturer does it, i loved it. and I know what you are talking about.

That is awesome. There must be a hack to only light modules that you want. Getting the speedo to light only 0-90 then incremental after that would be programmatic, but not impossible.

In the Saab, if you went over the illuminated segment it illuminated the rest of the single dial.
