Cut and paste from the spotted post, but reposting here so I don't lose my comments when I look back.

Just got back from the ring.

Managed a 08:48 on Saturday (first ever lap in the b8) so car has plenty in her - needs pilot super sports really badly! - and brakes (ebc's were almost on fire - I had to come off after that hot lap and go drive for 15 minutes - the amount of smoke pouring out the arches was unreal. On EBC yellows at the moment.

I did see two other rs4's (one German cab also lapping) and another (blue?) yesterday I think up at ringworks. There was also an r8 v10 with a grey/red Matt wrap and graphics who I hope is no one on here (German plate) who was not looking in his mirrors much...

Best lap Sunday was 11:07 but if you were there you know what it was like - I did 6 laps yesterday and it progressively got worse - to the point I had to stop for safety it was utterly undrivable.

Anyway - enough of that! Shame I didn't get to meet anyone from here but I was keen to get as much in as possible. Only 9 in total but was worth it still to find areas to improve the car.

The exhaust went down well apparently with everyone who I came across lol. Can't wait till it's a bit louder tho!

Nice one Ross, car looks superb.

I found my yellow stuff pads smoked a lot too, on DS2500 now, much better.

I can't wait to get some more laps in, not long now

It's strange as they weren't this bad on the b7 and I was 15 seconds faster in that. Maybe I can't rely on engine braking so much now so am hammering the brakes more.

I'll be checking out better pads soon for sure - cheers!

Hmm, you had the esp turned off i presume? Maybe it was dabbing the brakes on the inside during cornering. Just a thought.

When are you planning on going back?

No - esp on (normal). For my first laps / track use I wasn't taking any chances! Might have been that good shout.
