Aston sportshift gearbox sucks, my old man had an AMV8 a few years ago. Yes it looked and sounded wonderful but the gearbox was truly terrible and the build quality was equally as bad, I remember once he pulled into a garage to fill it up and when he unscrewed the petrol cap (which was made out of fancy aluminium by the way) the whole thing fell apart in his hands

It's only a c2 though. That's not going to hold value in the same way as either of the s models.
Does look good though!

Gen 2 residuals are bullet proof atm, so many buyers prefering them due to the doubt over gen 1 engine reliability. The price difference between gen 1 and gen 2 is alarming!
That one will be bought by a trader and re-advertised with 5k interest if a private punter doesn't get there first! Especially as it has a Porsche warranty - zero spend a trader there. It would probably still sell privately if it was advertised for 34,999 not 31,800

My favourite game this.
In my opinion, the RS6 is definitely worth a look. Just for a bit of variety though, some others that might be worth considering:
- Bentley Flying Spur (I prefer the spur to the continental)
- Merc SL55 (I swear the prices are going up!)
- RS5 (how has nobody mentioned that?)
Wildcard entry:
- Porsche 993 (I'n no expert, but this is a seriously cool car in my opinion. I'd love a 993 targa. Don't know if you'd fit in it though!)

This is the problem, 30k is a real quandary figure. I was thinking exactly the same as you about what to get in to for this money but there just isn't anything about that's as equally a step up from an RS4.
To get anything like worth moving to you need to be looking at 40k. I was thinking about flogging mine and financing 20k but I quite like having no credit in my life. Apart from a mortgage!

But it's sh1t. It's a Ford Granada.
And you cant use it in the rain. Interior is horrific (and that one is very tatty inside).
Does track well though and feel very fast.

RS5.
I am working on a couple of options to change from my RS4 B7
2011/2 cars with sub 45k miles a plenty for about £31k. Mine is likely to be Red thanks to some feedback on here.

Yep Jay, that is exactly my thinking, it is almost better having £20k to spend then the solution is a little clearer.. lol

Does anyone know what is the best RS Audi outside the RS4 to look after £30-35k cash for a year. RS5 ?
Thanks

If you're in the market for one you might as well get a caterham for £20k and a pratical car for £5k, then use the difference for fuel and fun! Unless you've only one parking space of course!
