It will be interesting to hear it Ross. The B8 in both stock form and aftermarket exhaust (Milltek) sound very different to the b7's and much louder. I'm not sure if it's to do with the dual air intake and cat / downpipes or not. The B8 Milltek seems to include a portion of downpipe, where the b7 was much shorter from cat back. Maybe this is the reason for the noticeable noise difference.

Interesting. I've never heard a B8 so assumed they sounded very similar.

I thought so too Mike until we put two together. Annoyingly the B8 does sound better... But the B7 still sounds epic. Will be interesting to see what custom fabricators of this caliber can do with it and therefore how it sounds compared to Neil's etc.

B8 underside photos from yesterday @ jcweldfab. Primary cats (HUGE) are stuffed up right inside below the manifolds.

Who cares what it looks like??? How often do you get the chance to look at it?

It's called quality, why would you not care about what it looks like?
So anything under the car can look like it's been made buy a blind gimp!!!
But it doesn't matter cause you can't see it, really!!

Just checking as I may be having a brain fart moment :bash: :drink:

Are we looking at an OEM exhaust or a new jcweldfab exhaust?

My guess is OEM as the process has only just begun, or did they work really fast at jcweldfab ....

Ross's photos were of the OEM exhaust on the B8.
Neil posted some photos of the JC Weldfab exhaust on his B7.

im going to guess that in your youth you stuck filler and newspaper to cars, re sprayed it and called it "job done"? Doesn't matter about the build quality just the result.

What it looks like is generally a good indication of the quality. And as you assumed I'd posted photos of a JCWF exhaust not a stock exhaust I'm going to assume you don't actually know a great deal of what you're talking about :p

Your "guess" is very wrong, I never got involved in car repair. I was simply amused with RIVs comments over build quality of something which can't be seen, that's all. I'll not get involved in such discussions with experts next time.

All the more reason to go to a fabricator where you can see what they are doing
