Oh cool, which one are you referring to? Nae bother, both of them combined have had less owners and covered fewer miles than your wife. See how pointless this is going to become?

So here's the olive branch; let's not make this about our tired old rides and let this get back on track. I'm happy to turn this into a slagging match but I'd rather not, it's up to you, your move.

Wow. Looks like we've got a live one here. Take no notice BamBam, every village has one. In this case our village has one called Edwardo.

For what its worth, my view on a remap is you can have a remap or a manufacturers warranty on your engine and drive train. Not both. Simple as that.

Remap the car and take it into Audi for a blown turbo or similar and I'd expect to be told to do one.

Sorry to bring this back on topic :p

Asked specifically about a car covered under the new car warranty:
Subject: AU-2015/06-005179

Dear Mr Dagley

Thank you for your email of regarding updating your Audi’s engine software.

As improvements are made the manufacturer will provide software updates which will be installed when your vehicle is serviced
within the Audi Centre Network. Other than in such circumstances, the manufacturer does not recommend that your vehicle’s engine
management system is updated. If the engine software is remapped, this will invalidate the vehicle’s warranty for any part that
relies on the engine to operate and the engine itself.

The factory specification software is designed for each type of vehicle specifically and is tested with that vehicle. If the
timings are changed, then the engine will be operating outside of these specifications and the manufacturer’s recommendations,
so there will be a greater risk of reduced reliability.

Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

This obviously implies all engine ancilleries (inc turbos, water pump you name it), the gearbox and clutch, the prop/drive shafts, diffs, etc etc.

You could infer in fact, anything that rotates or moves - driven by the engine.
