recaro bucket seat refurb

Post by timsrs6 » Sun Jun 07, 2015 12:17 pm

I have a VERY small area on my cars buckets seats that require refurbing.

I want o get it done now as at this point it will only be a small bob to do.

Who do you use to complete seat repairs.

I am after a proper job not just repainting the leather.

Thanks

Sorry to hijack thread, but am interested in the answer.

Am currently looking for an RS4 B7 Cab, preferably with bucket seats, and have noticed from many adverts that the driver's seat seems to be the part of the car that ends up looking in worse condition, particularly on the edge.

Is there a common repair of part of the seat, and has anyone done this to repair such a problem? If so at what cost?

(NB my location is E Yorkshire).

If it's just wear, the leather can be sanded down and repainted. Had this done on an R8 and was superb.

If it's had a fat fekker fall in and out of it all day and crease the leather and damage the bolsters then best bet is buy new leathers, or a re-trimmer

new leathers are about £400 for each panel from Audi (if they still have any) i.e bottom and back on each seat so £1600 for a full set for both seats. Poblem is that if you buy just one part it will be a different colour to the rest.

Sorry Guys

i am located in Derbyshire.

The main piece is not really wear, but the base side has lost some of it spongyness and you can feel the frame through it.

Thanks

Cut a new piece of sponge and stick it under there. Use the good bit from the other side as guide if needed.

Thanks I have thought about that, Whats the seat like to strip down.

How is the leather attached to the base ???

Sounds like you have done this before.

Cheers

I replaced only the bottom halves and it takes time before they start looking similar. New ones are very matt and a lot lighter (grey) when new.
The change job itself is doable.

I can vouch for MJ - I'm in Leeds and he's about to do mine.
