Bluetooth music options?
Re: Bluetooth music options?
Think I was just showing where the bracket for the tuner / CD player bolts to the body work. It's a bit of a biatch to get to.

so apologies for the lag.
yep - tried one yesterday - an ipod touch. so the same track copied onto both the nexus 6 and the ipod thing sounded quite different.
even to my untutored ears, the ipod touch was very flat (both using stock music players, and both having no eq. turned on).
noticeable difference in overall sound feel between the two which I wasnt expecting at all.
wonder why? is it different codecs fighting?
Re: Bluetooth music options?
Yeah, the iPhone doesn't use AptX so if your receiver can only do AptX or basic SBC codec streaming then it'll sound poo.
It's frustrating that a £13 device does it so well when the Sony at 3 times the price can't.
My female to female jack just turned up so I can test the BR-C3 against the BR-C2. Will do it now. Any excuse is good when you are supposed to be working.

Re: Bluetooth music options?
Just tested the BR-C3 and it sounded horrible at first. Then I tried it plugged into a battery USB power source and it was fine. I had initially plugged it into my AV receiver and obviously either the power supply wasn't clean, or the receiver was trying to talk down the USB which was causing horrible interference.
Once I got it powered by battery I couldn't tell any difference with the BR-C2.
Next step is installing it into the M3.

hope you had the sony on one too, as its drawing down around 800ma

Re: Bluetooth music options?
Fitted the Aukey in the M3. Sounds very good.
I pulled the cigar lighter bit apart and soldered it in directly. Ordered a female USB panel mount cable that I'll use for an extra charging point from the spare usb socket.
I'm going to pull the wiring diagrams out to see if I can wire the forward / back to the steering wheel buttons. Right now everything is completely out of sight which is the way I like it.
For info, the Aukey pulls about 20mA (including charger) when not playing and about 50mA when sending music to the head unit.
Highly recommend this little unit.

Re: Bluetooth music options?
I'm planning on fitting my Aukey into the RS6 this weekend. It should be so much fun!!!
I'll probably end up losing my rag
and changing the entire stereo system over for an aftermarket one with Bluetooth built in.
Fingers crossed.

Re: Bluetooth music options?
How you powering it? Even though it's not pulling much current, I would (and did) use a 12V supply switched with ignition.
You got the adapters to plug it into the Kufatec connector?

Re: Bluetooth music options?
I think I've got all the adaptors required. I bought the AV adaptor cable for the TV tuner and I've got AV to 3.5mm jack plus the Aukey unit. I was going to find a switched 12V point in the boot and power everything from that through a suitable fuse.
I'll probably wire my old iphone into the car as a tracker at the same time but stick it somewhere not immediately obvious so the little toerags don't find it if the car gets nicked.

Re: Bluetooth music options?
Installed several dension gateway lites and I've never had any complaints. First thing I add to any car I putchase, for bluetooth telephone and media connectivity.
Re: Bluetooth music options?
Hmm. Got alternator noise on the Aukey. Irritating.

Re: Bluetooth music options?
Can you run it by the side of OEM bluetooth without it interfering? I.e. Only hook up the streaming and don't bother connecting the mic?ZakTech wrote:Installed several dension gateway lites and I've never had any complaints. Re: Bluetooth music options?
Yes, you can. I had it in my a6 c6 alongside the factory bluetooth. I connected my phone to the Audi bluetooth for steering controls. iPod connected to dension gw for media, or kids connected their phone to the dension for Spotify media streaming. One phone can connect to only one bluetooth device at a time - I may be wrong about this. I installed the dension microphone so I sometimes connected my phone to the dension for the convenience of both phone and media.
