Remap

Booking mine in at Awesome for APR remap but they've not released it officially yet for the facelift, they've asked about using my car for some development which I'm fine with, I get a decent discount there as well if anyone else is interested we and could try and sort a better price out if a few fancy it :thumb:

What numbers are they quoting for the remap? I'm mulling over going to MRC for filters and map

I'd be taking Mrc every single time over apr, wouldn't let apr stick products on my car even if they paid me

MRC are fantastic but i wouldnt go as far as saying i wouldnt let APR put products on my car. Everyone has there own opinions but theres nothing wrong with APR, theyr'e a fantastic brand and global. Basically what im trying to say is for some MRC may be better but theres nothing wrong with APR. :beerchug:

Apr is renowned for selling products based on false numbers and lying about results at the strip etc. I'd never allow an apr product on audi of mines. You are correct its all about personal preference, have you ever done any research on apr? Or you just assuming they are good because they are 'global'?

I know a few Friends some with RS6 and others RS7 and 1 Golf R all running APR and theyr'e more than happy and cars are running fantastic even one has been on a dyno a made slightly more than APR quoted on 97oct not even 99 so yeah i think theyr'e good. And theres many RS7 owners getting similar times down the strip yeah mostly in us but never the less, im not saying either is better im just saying theyre not as bad as everyones making out and from the cars ive been in theyre fine and the 1 rs7 that was on the dyno great figures great fuelling no problems at all.

Exactly, and for me its 5hrs plus trip or 20 min. They've not properly sorted the remap out for the FL either so APR might be using my car for development just waiting to hear back from John at Awesome who's been great with me for years and definitely knows his stuff. Im a plumber and don't know anything about engines, but what sold it for me was John showing me the development facilities and testing that APR do compared to other tuners. Then when he told me another engine would be 47k and he wouldn't risk anything else on it so I'm taking his advice.

Sorry that first post was vague, but even just doing a stage 1 he will spend a lot of time on the dyno getting a baseline and checking the car is running well on their map, he's even custom tweaked some stage 1's on occation if he's not 100% happy with how a car's running, and strictly speaking he doesn't need to do that. Doug is a magician when it comes to custom mapping!

Scott, add MRC on Facebook and have a browse, they don't really spend as much on advertising and hype but have a look at least and make your mind up from there. ;) Either way you've got a cool car to start with and either tune will make it a total monster! Enjoy :D

I can only give my personal opinion and that's that I would never use apr. Lied loads over the years to various customers, they just had a complete overhaul I'm sure so maybe they have made positive changes. Your saying its a 5 hour trip or 20 mins? I've drove from scotland to Mrc religiously for around 6 years now, distance isn't a factor if your after the best. Considering you own a c7 you obviously want to have the best available products? It'll be worth the travelling .
