Coilover options.
Hi guys.
I've now split my rs6 but a little bit worried about fitting the standard drc back to it as I've heard the problems with it and don't want to waste my time and money having it pressurised to leak.
So I'm thinking about buying some coilovers to put back on the car to sell it. I don't really want to spend over £1000 as it is literally just to sell it. However what coilovers are out there for under £1000?
Thanks, josh.

Re: Coilover options.
standard C6 DRC is very very reliable, only heard of maybe 5 cases where its leaked
coilovers would remove the ability to change the ride from comfort/dynamic / sport and in my eyes devalue the car, its a cruiser which you can change the ride, coilovers are fro B7 / more agile cars in my view

Re: Coilover options.
My only trouble is I bought the car with the air suspension on and it has been on the car around 2 years.
The previous owner did not store the drc suspension very well and it has a bit of surface rust around the bottom, im just worried about wasting a day refitting it then paying somebody a few hundred pounds to re charge it and then it leak. It's a bit of a catch 22 for me really.

I don't think cheap Coilovers will help encourage the sale though mate. I think most potential buyers would want stock DRC. Some may be happy with coilovers, but likely only if it's your standard, recognised and trusted brands. Is it worth giving the DRC a brush over with a wire brush to get rid of the surface rust and then have them checked out before fitting? I don't think the dampers are 'that' expensive if you do end up needing to change parts. Also that could be seen as a bonus to a potential buyer. Worth investigating costs first I reckon before going ahead, either way.

As above. This isn't a track car. People want to be able to select between a "sporty" mode and pure comfort. Removing DRC would be a real negative in my opinion and would devalue the car badly. As I say, a non-issue on the RS4 but this is a super-tourer so I believe it'll impact you badly if missing.
Believe only the man who has nothing to gain from what he says.

Re: Coilover options.
Sounds like I had better get it back on the car then!
Next question is there anyone that does drc re pressuring that would come to my house and do it? Other wise I will have to trailer it to mrc or my local audi!

Re: Coilover options.
Should have left it on with air, not sure how much you would have got back for it.

Re: Coilover options.
My trouble was that no body was buying the car and it has been for sale for over 6 months now.
I figured it must be the interior. But I thought as I'm getting the car back home to remove the interior I would just take the lot off and put it back to standard to help with selling it.
I even nearly let it go for £23500!

Indeed should have left it how it was, I have a friend who is interested in your car, including the yellow interior & air ride etc, contact me to discuss ASAP please.
