Sudden Vibration

I was driving along a fast B-road the other day and suddenly the car seemed to be vibrating on the near side, so much so that the dash was shaking! First thought - puncture but the car was not pulling. I slowed down and stopped to inspect and found all tyres to be fine and at this point remembered the car has tyre pressure sensors and there had been no alert on that front. I set off again cautiously and all seemed normal again and have driven a few days with no further issues.

Any ideas what this could have been? I was driving in manual shift mode at the time and have been wondering if it is transmission related. I did experience the car sticking in 1st gear whilst driving in D a few weeks ago but by switching to manual and back it sorted itself out. The car is under warranty so a trip to the dealer is the next step but as it is running OK at the moment they will not be able to do much.

A lump of rock temporarily caught in one of the discs, maybe? I could imagine it vibrating if we're inline with one of the ventilation holes or "waves".
No harm in getting the dealer to plug a computer into the OBD to see if anything was logged.

I was blasting late at night once in an old E60 M5 a few years back and had a sudden vibration from the rear near side. Pulled over to check for punctures etc and couldn't see anything as it was dark, so drove slowly to a lit up petrol station and found a rather dead field mouse had been thrown into one of the rear wheels and lodged itself behind the spoke. Wasn't much fun trying to remove that with a stick
