Thanks all for the responses so far. Love the pics. Also appreciate the advice about the long black car looking like a hearse!! Does it really?

Am in Surrey, so we may indeed end up with more than one black panther RS6 on the roads around Guildford. Won't the locals be happy with that!

In the meantime, here's probably one of the web's most viewed picture of Nardo. In this case without PG. I like it, but I've specced it, maybe too late to change anyway

Not sure I really care now about incidentals like PG. I just want the car to arrive...

I have to say I much prefer to have my extra PG on the front so to avoid the eye contact you have to make to the chavs waving at you to let you know that you have a cool car. I love my car but sometimes don't like the attention it attracts so I prefer to stay in the shadows. Ninja style suits me better.

Lucky for us motorcyclists, the law says you can't put a dark tint on your front Windows. Can't believe people put vanity before safety.

The tint on the front is only a light tint. Just enough to keep prying eyes out the car. It certainly isn't due to vanity I assure you of that. And after 33 years driving experience and being a HGV driver for most of that I sure know about safety on the roads.

I'm sure the front windows are already tinted to the legal 70% VLT limit from the factory, aren't they?

That would mean any tint applied would push them beyond the limit.

Yes I agree it is slightly above the limit. But also isn't the speed limit in built up areas 30 mph, Motorways 70mph. Do we all stick to these LIMITS. Do motorcyclists think of safety when they are cranking their bikes over scraping their knee sliders and making wild overtakes at ridiculous speeds. All I'll say is people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

That's a bit of an apples vs pears/two wrongs don't make a right debate though is it not?

I totally agree with you doodle but I didn't start it. I was merely showing OP my car and giving an opinion and someone starts having a go.

If it's enough to keep prying eyes out of the car (what does anyone keep in a car that is so private?), then it's dark enough to compromise your ability to see other road users on a dusky evening or at night time.

I guess I am having a go. If there are two things that annoy me it's illegal tints and video in motion. Proponents always claim how good they are at driving and how it won't affect them. No, it'll be the poor bugger you hit because you didn't see them that will be affected. And it isn't just motorcyclists who are particularly vulnerable, it's cyclists, pedestrians, other car drivers, wild animals, etc.

As to your point about the speed limits. We all own RS6s here so I guess we all push it a bit here and there - maybe a lot, so it's all shades of grey - on that I can agree with you. However, it seems to me insanity to take a car and deliberately make it less able to perform the function of being driven fast safely by deliberately tinting the windows simply so it looks a little better when it's on your driveway at the end of the day.

For your information my vision is not impared as you can very well see in these pics. We are not talking about a Mickey Mouse company fitting cheap dark as poss limo film. As I said previous and I don't know what part you don't understand it is a personal preference of mine not vanity and also not for you to make a personal attack upon a person you have absolutely no knowledge of .

You say I have absolutely no knowledge of you but I know two things: you have stated that you have had your windows tinted beyond the legal maximum, and you posted that the tint was: "enough to keep prying eyes away". That sounds like a fair amount of tinting, to me. So I have enough knowledge of you to post a response to these statements. I haven't commented on your house, your wife, your lifestyle or anything else about which I do indeed know nothing.

The law has made a judgement on how much front windows can be tinted without impairing vision. You came onto a public forum, described how you had broken the law and I responded to that statement as it is an area of law-breaking that particularly annoys me as a biker.

I am not making a personal attack on you; this is a forum, and the way these things work is that when people have contradictory views, both parties are allowed to express them.
