At least a couple of weeks till I see my car. Which probably means a month!
Change of plan for bank holiday now!

He thought it was actually at Sheerness but it turns out is due to come into Sheerness.
He'd not looked at the Audi system properly...........
He had to phone another 5 customers to tell them the good news!

What can you do?? :drink:

Sounds fishy... They are moving quick though - you've not been blagged off? I.e. Someone has looked at the pdi diary and gone "oh crap we need to get xyz's order out before the 30th - call those 5 folks and tell them their car is delayed" sort of thing - ask for a copy of the screen miatang has been getting?

He could have looked at the screen wrong. Mine said arrival port of Grimsby even before it was in production. Is the sales guy quite new to the job?

He is fairly new at Audi. He'd only been there a couple of weeks when I ordered, having come from VW.
I have a good relationship with him and believe what he says.
He admitted he wasn't au fait with the online Audi system and that he'd read it incorrectly.

Beware the 'screen' doesn't tell the actual story. There are certain stages that trigger updates. Basically until it's on a lorry everything else is guess work.

Then I wouldn't feel like a pain in the arse checking it all the time.

You could even run a device at the final stage so that it gives an image of the car as it begins it's journey, all automated onto one of those devices that the parcel guys use for the scanning of barcodes.
Or they could fit the Cobratrak as soon as the car rolls off the production line and send the login details to the customer so that they could track it directly.
Although that would inevitably lead to numerous angry calls along the lines of "why has my car been stuck stationary in Emden for the last fortnight"

I doubt they'd want you to know (or you'd actually want to know) how it's driven at the docks or by the dealer in its PDI prep. They'd spend more time dealing with angry complaints from people waiting on a pristine new car :nogarors4:

so we're basically saying that we should accept that the dockers and transport driver smash the cars to bits :-) I'd rather be the guy who complains.... chuckle

Mine was there for about 4 days back in September before the transporter picked it up and took to the (fairly local) stealer.
Handover was a couple of days later.

You won't have much longer to wait. :boots:
