It's Lane Keep Assist
Uses a small camera on the grill to identify the White lines and steer the car between them
I started to use it on my ski road trip but quickly became pee'd off with it and it seemed to make the car wander....within the lines but felt odd.
It's not as good as the Bosch system Honda use
The Bosch system picks out the two lines and keeps the car central, where the system in the RS4 (possibly Denso or Continental) waits until the car nears the line and then steers it away, which results in bouncing between the lines
I guess the idea of the system is to stop you wandering across lanes and not for sending texts on the motorway as I geberally use it for with active cruise :)

LKA is pointless I've only ever used it to show one of my mates what it does, Lane change assist is really good though

I use my Lane Keep Assist and Lane Change Assist lots. LKA works well with radar cruise control (and Brake assist) on motorways. Lane Change Assist is mega, I miss it when driving something else. Not needed it in anger but it is just one of those nice things that is there and helps keep you alert and safe.

SWAP - Possible 1/2 Alcantara Supersports to full leather, the alcantaras seem to pull my trousers down when getting in....
ADD - Poss Pana Roof and B&O (although the latter would not make much difference, I still find myself turning the stereo off and just listening to the engine..)
DITCH - nothing, love my spec and everything works well.

MY15 Audi B8 RS4 Avant - sports pack / black optics / sports exhaust / Rotors / Technology Pack High w/ google maps, wifi etc / lane assist / radar cruise / memory pack etc etc - panther black on black on black on black.... with some extra black for good measure!

There is a "Steering Intervention" option in the MMI where you can change that - either "early" or "late" depending on how soon you want the computer to interfere. Either way, the whole thing is quite unnerving and best kept turned-off IMHO.

LKA sounds pointless - would be useful if all HGV's used it tho.

For me

SWAP - My Daytona Grey paint for Riviera Blue.
ADD - Memory seats - when I saw it it the pricelist I assumed it was the whole electric seat kit and therefore I would get manual seats as standard (my preference). Drives me nuts when my 194cm 130Kg frame has to get in after my unfortunate wife has been to Waitrose...
DITCH - DRC; 20" wheels; sports exhaust. I deleted dynamic steering and should never have had the DRC - it never rides 'right'. My 20" V spokes are kerbed to F**K, and do not help the ride - however good they look. And as for the exhaust would rather go for aftermarket Akrapovic or Milltek...
