He had the trim all done black (and IMO the MTM alloys are one of the best on both the C5 and C6). Re wheel colour, why not go for Audi Titan (See Golf's car on page 16).

And to add to marc1's post above, although this is a saloon and not an Avant it still gives you an idea of how it will look with black optics:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... 1130127840

Judging by the alu boot strip it was probably an alu optic car with wrapped grille / windows (or changed properly).

Plate is superb. A1 for that my son.

Ooooooo it looks mean. I'm sure with a bit of Dagley magic dust this one will look meaner and dare I say faster. Lovely.

Still can't keep you away form bread vans. Just more baguettes fit in this one than the BreadvanB7 :thumb:

I like it. A. Lot.
Thanks for the + on the plate. It's a bit marmite but it's a plate I hope I can keep for a while now, rather than the RS04 plates which are well... kinda limiting!

Once the front end is resprayed to remove the roadrash, I'll probably do the grille black too as I do like that black. And maybe the badges. I'll probably eventually get the trim wrapped black too I guess - need to see another avant with it done really before I decide though. As for the breadvan - they're the faster shape - why would I want anything else? :D :D

Whilst the paint is NOWHERE near this bad, check out how chipped the screen is. For a car with 39k on it when I got it, it must have spent 38k of those miles behind a Lamborghini at 150+ :(

This is a clean (just washed) screen in this photo - but car is in the garage with the door open which emphasises the marks. Still shitty though!

Screen getting replaced on Wednesday.

Mmm - me thinks one has washed the screen with a sand blaster - just as well it's getting changed - that would drive me nuts.

Lepsons shadow chrome on that would look stellar - I have to say, biatch to keep clean and retain that 'chrome' look, but I can testify they do a stunning black twin tone chrome finish. Maybe ceramics would keep the brake dust at bay for you!

Black optics would look great, and like mike said, change the boot and your'e done!

Not much to report - everything going as planned / desired so far pretty much. Small fight with Mondial about condensation in the headlight(s) this AM but hardly something I'm losing sleep over. I was talking to Trups about the headlight upgrades and looks like I'll just have to do that sooner rather than later now I guess.

Windscreen now replaced (best £60 I've spent so far!)

Took the car to possibly the most unsuitable track in the UK for an RS6 - cadwell. lol. Was booked when I had the 4 but wasn't turning down a track day ;)

Started slippery (actually snowing when we arrived) but as the day dried out I spent most of it driving my friends RS Megane as the 6 was really starting to show it's size. Got about 20 laps under the big 6's belt though.

Brakes were a bit spungy on the last few laps and coming home they were for sure cooked from the day's play - I'm presuming they were on standard fluid from the factory and have never been changed. Anyway - new braided hoses and Castrol SRF fluid and they're insane now - far better than before the track day - can't believe how good they are. Loving them. :)

I missed the Vmax trip in the end (my father was unwell - better now but went to his instead). Luckily the vmax organisers have offered to transfer me over to the next event so no actual loss :)

Service tomorrow with Hitchin Audi - hopefully doesn't find anything too horrible. Haggled them down to 50% of what they originally wanted so winner winner there too.

Nurburgring trip on Thursday - so more pics to follow from that. It's not going to be a track toy and I've accepted that - even the wife is encouraging me to get another small french tin for track abuse so I think that's how things will go down.

I feel it needs a bit more power (830ish seems about where I want to be) so another 100hp - I'll have a chat to Doug/Ben as soon as money allows for that. Downpipes, decats and a full system would get me there I think - certainly close to it. I'll also get Doug to give me another few rpm on the rev limit so 200+ comes up in 5th which will be nice.

Think that's it for now - I'm just using it really!

Looks WET! Cracking pics on track - love the pic of you being chased down by the Atom! Enjoy the ring - hope Hithcin's trip is a breeze as per the Windscreen! :thumb:

Good pics Ross and looks like you are enjoying it. IIRC when Nige's used to have his C6 he boiled the Castrol fluid at Spa, and that was after having some seriously heavy duty brake upgrades including cooling ducts, etc.

Image

It will be much better suited to the 'ring, I'm sure but no doubt will still feel very heavy and be hard on the brakes. Especially that left/right set of corners about 6km in.

Hear what you are saying regarding something small and fun. After discussing the C6 with you and then driving one, I thought I might just go for a C5 (always liked them) with coilovers, ARB's etc and get a little Clio 200 RS Cup for 'nipping to the shops' in, etc but having driven the Clio now, it can not hold anything to my modded e36 track car bar looking pretty. I think the small car needs to be turboed in all honesty. R26 or Trophy or similar may be a shot though.

Yep - the Megane I drove at Cadwell (225 model) was staggeringly good for a totally standard car. Plenty quick, stopped well, handled well. Loved it in all honestly. My budget will be a bit lower though - around £1500 should secure me a nice car just for track use (think: saxo/106 etc as this is what I've known for 15+ years).

RE boiling the fluid - the SRF stuff is pretty much the best money can buy. If you're boiling that I don't know what else to do!

Do the C5 brake duct cooling mods work on the c6? I've not looked into it yet but may do if so (I'm talking about these: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/wheel60.shtml

PS - pleased to see Nige's front end looks stonechipped there like mine :p Also envious of his garage floor. (I've got a really nice garage but the floor was laid by a blind one armed child Filipino in wellies, using boulders for substrate).

You need hybrid turbos to get to where you want to be. Down pipes, decat with full system won't get you there sadly.
Too much power is barely enough.

:(

Well Doug is getting 800 from just downpipes and modified (don't know what) intercoolers with a cat back system. I was hoping the decat's would free up 30ps or so. Either way - more is never enough as is said!

Either way that'll have to wait for a while. Want to get the cosmetics done first I think. Stonechips and Trups headlights - that sort of thing.

LOL. It wasn't stone chipped. It was covered in 1,000miles of bugs as it's sat in a pit garage at Spa.

That car was the cleanest C6 ever
