In fairness though, W8PMC's M5 obliterated everything on the track on the straights - including his brake pads by lunch time

We certainly had the heavyweight corner in comparison to all the lightweight race cars that were there due to some cancellation at Silverstone
In comparison though, there was really only a SevernValley BMW 1series race car and a stripped out lotus race car that were faster than us on the track

I did the Decent Audi thing and overtook a whole host of M3's and an M4 for the sake of the four rings

Ceramics were a massive improvement in the braking department, and the car felt a lot better on the track than my previous RS. I could go flat around the long right hander before the start finish chicane this time, were as I was having to lift there previously in my last car and I was also needing 5th on the start straight, where before I was only hitting top of 4th before braking out left for the long right. Maybe it was just a grippier day, but this car felt better on track than my previous one
Still got hit by a loose bit of something off another car and took a big chunk out of my bonnet early in the day. I can add that to the list of stone chips than need repairing soon

Thanks Phil for organising & for the lunch. Was great to meet some other RS246ers & get some pax laps with Graeme in his B8 RS4 & Phil in his GT-R.

Shame my rear pads were shot within 3 hours so couldn't venture out after lunch. Thought i'd get a day out of them but sadly not. The M5 was great fun & very little troubled it other than the single seaters who feel they need to play the corner/straight game so just easier to let them go & back off.

I need to get braver with the Traction Control & if dry try switching it off completely, but did try MDM for a couple of the sessions & that was interesting.

Best lap time (National Circuit) was 1:25.63 which isn't too shabby for a fat saloon car & top speed was 129mph. Got some Pagid RS29's sat at home that happened to arrive whilst i was at Donington, so these will improve the braking in plenty of time for her next track outing.
