Whats the best way to do this?

Post by N7BSE » Fri Mar 27, 2015 10:45 am

Morning all,

It looks as if I ay have to sell my car. I have been forunate enough to get a confirmed allocation for the GT4 so I need to sell my RS4. Question is: Do I put it back on normal coilovers, standard wheels etc... and sell it as a standard car or keep it as it is and will people be put off by the mods etc...?

I had a real issue selling my C63 because it has been re-mapped, exhaust and coil overs etc... Anyone sold an RS4 with these mods etc...

Well done on getting a GT4 slot. Did they give you a build week and ETA yet ?
Re your RS4, then you're almost certainly opening it up to a much wider audience by returning it to standard and not advertising it's been modded
Someone on here may want a modded car, but I'd suggest the general public don't as you found out with your C63

Thanks, had no chance of getting one in the UK as you said looks like orders were wrapped up 18 months ago. I have managed to source one from Cyprus. My parents live there and I can have it to the full UK spec, RHD etc... Only get a 2 year warranty but thats fine by me. Issue is I have to pay them for the car in full when it goes into Production so thats why having to sell the RS4 earlier. Been told it will be built during week 32 so not too long really.

Wow, that's a cool route for doing it, I hadn't considered that
If you don't mind me asking, what did it set you back to go that route as the EU/GBP is good at the moment ?

I'd only really considered one as it was about the sort of cash I wanted to spend on a Sunday car, the GT3 is amazing, but well out the league of my pockets now, and the thought of a couple of years of potentially depreciation free motoring pulled me in.

Good thinking on the Porsche, reckon you could do well with that.

I'd return the RS4 to standard as the colour is a little Marmite.

Actually with the current Euro rates, shipping the car, paying the Duty and registration fee I am 3.2k better off. So could buy an additional Years warranty and still be good. So pleased with that. I thought most people would suggest putting it all back to standard etc... So in that case better get it sorted. Yes will be selling Wheels, KW Coil Overs will leave the Zorst on as I have lost the original in my house move.

Yes, 100%.

Modded cars have a cut down audience when it comes to resale.

Common sense says put it up for sale first to test the waters, why on earth would you pay out to strip back to normal without trying, anyone who knows about the b8's would understand you have improved it. I sold my b7 within 1 week on piston heads for top money.

How much would you want for the exhaust I have 2 rs4 rear sections availble would you consider a swop and some cash? If so what kinda off of price would you be looking at?

Someone must want that exhaust ...and would do a swap with money your way?

I'm with Silas, get some great snaps and test the waters and give yourself a time frame and stick to it.
