Does anybody know if the B6 S4 can be delimited and if so what the 'rough' top end is?
Thanks in advance
Duncan
DE-LIMIT
Quote from Autocar's first test of S4 Vs M3, December 2002:
"Both are electronically limited to a 155mph maximum speed, but today this once inviolate restriction is less tightly enforced...."
Whether that means the test cars were de-restricted, or that there is a limiter but it's set to a rather more "generous" 155mph, I'm not sure, but the top speed recorded for the S4 Avant (which incidentally was tested separately; the above quote came from a comparison of the saloon & the M3) was 164mph (M3 160 mph
)
Couldn't tell you if that 164mph was an electronically governed top speed though, I'd like to know too if there is indeed a limiter on our cars (not that I'll ever reach it
