Is this normal for a build week issue?

Post by parmd » Wed Mar 25, 2015 11:14 am

Hi all,

My car was due to be built last week and then to the docks Friday/Monday. The Audi system is still showing that the car is being built, how long does it take to build and should the Audi system have refreshed by now to show it's in transit to the dock? Cheers

As far as I'm aware an RS takes longer on the build production as it has additional checking stages including a test drive (stage 8 or something like that). Hence why they have 50 plus miles on the clock when you get the car delivered. Mine took about 4/5 weeks from build week to delivery at the dealers and as you know this can vary certainly after reading a few posts on here.

The stage reporting had a lot of lag in it - mine was in production build for a couple of weeks, day after phoning up for a quick check for any progress (none reported) I got a call that it had turned up on a transporter at the dealer...

Mine RS4 was due for delivery in week 11th, called the dealer last week and it was still in the production plant with no firm date for delivery. I understand the extra tests/check issue still the communication is nowhere close to what I am used to get from BMW or Lexus in the past.

Thanks Phil/2f2f

I'm hoping it's the system that hasn't refreshed as it's costing a fortune to run a hire car at the moment, I do also agree the communication is poor and sounds like it's an Audi issue than dealer specific which is very disappointing as BMW do this bit so well. Thanks again

Hate reading things like this about delivery!
My car was supposed to be built in week 10. Dealer really vague when I ask about delivery.
My old car sold now so desperate for new one!
A straight answer would be good but I guess that would be too easy!
I'm going to call in to the dealers this week........phone calls and emails never seem to have the same effect as a face to face!

Well I spoke to my dealer today as I have been given a build week of 13. The dealer confirmed that it was still build week 13 and it would start in a couple of weeks as we were currently in week 11 :bash: .

I kindly informed him that it was week 13, alas my car is not showing as being started  .

regards

Kieran

This will almost certainly be followed by a call from your dealer stating 'your car is built & will be on the boat tomorrow'

Three weeks later they'll then call to say that it is now off the boat but stuck in the docks due some bs issue.

two days after that they'll ask if you want to pop in the following day to collect.

The Audi new car purchase roller coaster -oh the joys!

My dealer informed me yesterday that my car is "status 30" and was awaiting shipping on the 29th. So mine may well be on the same boat.

I don't know about you kieranp1 but it was like squeezing blood from a stone to get this info out of them!! Never return calls or emails, very frustrating!!

I'd take it all with a dose of salt until your cars land in the UK. Which could be anytime in the next 3 months!

It's not been to bad, I was given the build week as soon as I ordered (16). Then when I handed my car over the following week was informed that this had dropped too 13. This was all at the end of feb the sales guy said he would call at the end of the march but I got giddy and phoned him on the 25th for an update, the guy said everything was on plan and the car was due in production week 13 in a couple of weeks time :bash: , it was week 13 I informed him :bash: :bash:

Anyhows he rang yesterday as promised with the above information and has promised agin to ring next Wednesday with a further update.

Although i currently have every faith in this guy he rang again this morning and left a message asking me to come in at 14:00 today!!! I figured he might have contacted me in error as I don't believe these cars are freighted by air :bash: there must be another Kieran with an RS6 on order from the same dealership!
