We can do a special box map and will need to make sure it's safe revving that high and that it still makes decent power there.
Cheers for replying Doug - you must have got my message from Ben. :)

I'll call you tomorrow as I want a brake fluid change and braided lines before the track time end of the month so we can discuss then :)

Ross Jimbo has some ceramics for sale in the classifieds. From an Austin Martin but will fit a b7 with not much work. Could be worth seeing if they'll work on the C6 too?

Yeah I saw those Marc thanks. I'll wait and see how i get on with the steels for now - I've just put a fresh set of them on and haven't run out of brakes on the road yet (maybe I'm not driving hard enough!). We'll see.
Getting paint, wheels and general tidying done in next month so expensive enough as is!

Stop tempting me!

VMAX will show you if you need them no doubt. I'm sure the steelies are more than capable though.

You'll bend a set of steelies at vmax.

You have been warned

My stage 1 c6 got 194 (184 on plugin satnav) last year...not vmax, just a private day. And yes, my steals didn't like it much...they lasted but only just.

I screwed my 'ramics at Vmax. Did 198 GPS, 204 on the clocks (see my display photo) that was in fifth with a sixth gear still to go. It's a lot quicker now with the MRC map tweak and an extra 54nm.

0-60 in 2.99 secs, 0-100 in 6.7 secs (without a cat back) is still pretty impressive for a two ton barge with no launch control!

I still really enjoy mine two years on, really can't see myself getting rid anytime soon. Can't wait to get the rollbars and springs on it. :D

My RS6

The problem seems to be with dropping into sixth - it's like hitting a brick wall - you lose all acceleration.

I've already had 205mph speedo and 197gps out of it so seems a familiar tale.

And yep - my 0-60 is 2.9 secs and 0-100 in 6.5 so very similar to yours - which is nice to see :)

I should probably be using Vmax as a 30-130 event really I guess. See how I dare against the big boys etc :)

Re brakes - there's brand new (<1k miles) discs and pads on there. I'd rather not ruin them with panic braking at the end of the run. Image

It's not panic braking that will ruin them.

Tbh, I think you are mad to take your brand new discs+pads to vmax to do a speed you already know it will do and then have to shell out £2k on a new set of steelies

Why would Steelies be £2k? They're £487 for a pair. Plus pads obviously. Either way, it'll be a nice day out :)

You can do 200 easy at VMAX
But you'll end up with a CAT C with Ramics.
and CAT A with Steels...
