If the RS6 had launch control(LC), I hope it would not be like the launch control on the other fine Audi product that I drive.

Every time I use LC on the LP560-4, I look in the rear view mirror to see that I have not left a trail of gearbox parts on the road behind me as the LC starts with the engine revving to 5000rpm and then when you take your foot of the brake, a loud bang is heard as all the slack is taken up in the transmission. True, the car does then run a 10.7 sec quarter mile, but I still cringe when use LC.

just my two cents worth,
cheers,
john

launch control is brutal on transmissions and engine mounts. Just ask the owner of the RS4 that lunched his car at santapod yesterday... I'd be the same - very frightened!

:bigwave: sounds like launch control ish to me :?:

Its just the stall point on the torque converter.. I wouldn't hold it there for long or you'd damage the gearbox whereas launch control holds the revs on the throttle.

The ECU on the C5 won't let you do it, kills the power the moment it sees throttle at the same time as brake.

A stock C5 ECU won't.
No matter where you go, there you are.

How's it going Doug? Still loving it? Any new bits? How are you finding the handling with the springs and arbs?

This is the first one i've driven other than just test drives so once you are over the size and get used to it- you can thrash it and it is a lot better on A roads than I expected. Just recalibrating to the braking distances took a while.

I've swapped it just now with the previous owner and a C7 RS6 for a few days so ill report back on his thoughts.

The Milltek non res exhaust, KW adjustable platforms, modded Intercoolers are going on when I get it back. 3" Downpipes after that, then Carbon Clean and deflap to see if we get a difference.

yes all fsi do - turbos or forced charged don't tend to drop power anywhere as much as a na car - but still doesn't help.

Heya, remembered you posted the 0-60 shot.

Have you done 60-120 and have those times as well?

Cheers

I have a 30-130 time of 9.2 seconds if that helps give you an indication of the mid-range pull?
