Exactly, but I can muscle the 996 around the ring in 8:59 after a few years of practise and the rs6 did 9:10 on the first lap and under 9 by the third! However destroyed a set of brake disks and managed to fish tail it at 147!

I'm a firm subscriber to that tread! :) springs and arbs are currently in plan :) need to sort the taxman out first :(

Yeah London is a bit of a drive. I have a deposit on a 996 turbo but am in 2 minds, I may forget about it. There were a few things I wanted put right on it first but more I think about it, I don't think it's the right one. It has been going on for a few weeks now and have lost a bit faith. The C6 will more than suit what I need it for. I think the rs4's are sub 8:30 on the ring aren't they? Mind if I go for the C6, it wouldn't be long before I had it down to mrc for a 720 setup. We're your ring times based on a standard output?

My B7 did 08:30 dead as my best time - with a sub 10:00 wet lap (which I'm far more proud of).
I'd expect a sub 09:00 in the C6 once I've got used to it - maybe not in three weeks time though which is when I'm next at the ring...

You will have to post up your times. Such a shame an upgrade is also a downgrade ain't it?

Looks really nice but high milage though.
Lovely that! Black leather imo would really make that car. High mileage for the price of it maybe?

Black saloon 2006, black leather, bucket seats, 64k miles, brand new tires, mrc stage 2 done 2 weeks ago (436ps), over all good condition really mate. It's not in immaculate condition or anything but at the same time is in good shape.

I'd say if you don't need the extra space stick with the 4 or trade up to a B8 4. That's what I was originally planning but growing family meant it was a 6 or nothing. I have driven a C7 6 though and it is def a more dynamic drive than the C6, ultimately this is now what I will be aspiring to.

I was never expecting a great deal as a trade in anyway. Not that I have traded a car in before mind. In fairness, I was surprised to be offered 16k without it even being looked at. I am sure I could twist his arm for another g. He more or less said so on the phone. Good spec but a high price on that mileage I think.

It's more a power upgrade that anything else really. It's the 720bhp that appeals. I do like the RS6 cosmetically as well. I don't think I will ever be happy unless I take the leap and live with the regret should I have any.

I'm now 6 hours into c6 ownership. It's a guided missile.

2.9 seconds to 60mph? Oh yes.
Does it handle like the rs4? Of course not. But it's simply staggering straight line performance is mind warping and it's exactly what I was hoping for - luxury and comfort with point and shoot supercar eating ability.

So far I'm over the moon.

Sounds like music to my ears Ross. I take it you jumped straight into a stage 2? I bet that is a whole different car to standard spec.
