I tend to find that my customers who squeeze me for every cent to make a trade barely economical for me don't get called back. I'm not in the car industry but I am sure there are plenty of buyers out there happy to leave something on the table for the dealer hence your experience. Absolutely understand your want to get a 'deal' but buying the cheapest cut doesn't get you the fillet. Ever.

Think Graeme put it better but I have to agree.

A smart salesman understands if you are going to buy, he should be the guy to sell it, or you'll go elsewhere.

A large part of not getting calls back could be your attitudes. Don't waste their time, be straight with what you want and be clear you WILL buy if they give you what you ask for.

I negotiated mine a year ago, and I'd say it was amongst one of the most heavily discounted RS's around. They made Little on the car, and knew there was no servicing to come, but on the flip side I've put a number of people to the same sales guy for deals on other cars and will continue to do so.

I had a good experience with Stoke audi - to the point they were holding or willing hold people back late to get the deal. This was over the phone and I told hem of they reached my figures I would sign. This didn't happen that day as I had a wobble on colour and didn't want them all staying back on my behalf. They phone back 2 days later due to the sales lady being off and we picked up where we left off- but with a better deal for me.... They achieved this after call 2 that day - which I thought was easy - so asked for a few extras such as roof rack - full tank - ski bags etc , they agreed to all that so deal was done. This is the second car my family has bought from them and worth the drive from Aberdeen so I don't have to deal with the shitty Aberdeen dealership - which I don't understand how they ever sell cars!!

Just for clarity, my non returned calls were before we even got to the deal part!
My first question is always about stock, anyone can offer a fantastic deal on something that doesn't exist (Teletext holidays like)

...yeah, come on tell us... :jump_clap:
Update as of today

I am quite astonished by the apathy of not only the Audi main dealers but the online brokers as to my genuine interest in purchasing a new RS4

I have made in quite clear that am seriously considering purchasing one, but the deal will have to be right. I have no part x and I have a £12k deposit to go onto the deal

I am still, after 3 days waiting for call backs from a number of Audi main dealers regarding any proposed deals. Amazing for a £60k purchase!

I have a further two enquiries with main Dealers on going

One has said - 'If you proceed with us today we may be able to get somewhere near the brokers price!' Still laughing at that one!

Waiting a call back on the 2nd enquiry

Doing my enquires with the Audi main dealers, I have found around 30 (thirty) new stock RS4's at 3 Dealerships! Just making me wonder how many stock ones there are in the Uk ...

Oh and my heart goes out to all these main dealers 'just' making a living. Seriously ...

I won't chase the Dealers. If they want to sell me a car, they can contact me back. Not even a courtesy call! & sometimes the motor trade as a whole wonders why it has a bad name!

Soooo after already wasting too much time on the 'RS4 scenario' as my wife calls it, I'm looks like I'm sticking with my new S3 saloon purchase

Thanks for all the input folks. Its all been appreciated

My local Audi dealer has informed me today that throughout the Uk Audi dealer network, there are 181 (one hundred and eighty one) new and unregistered RS4's

Like the rest of the Audi dealers I have spoken too, no additional discount over and above a factory order one

Wonder why?

Makes sense.

They want to manufacture the quota ASAP to empty the parts bin and move onto the B9 platform.

Hitchin Audi are to me absolutely crap. They are located 400 yards from my house. I went in one weekend to ask for a brochure and a test drive. Was toId I would receive a brochure in the post as they hadn't got one!!! and would be called on the Monday re a test drive. Didn't hear a thing or receive anything for a week. Spoke to the sales manager who then sent me an e-brochure via email and said he would get a car in for me to drive. Never heard another thing. I told them I wasn't a time waster as I had bought a brand new B7 RS4 in 2006 and had it serviced there on a regular basis.
In the end I went to Audi Cambridge 30 miles away and got the service I expected and now drive a B8 Audi RS4 with nearly £8k of extras fitted. Unlucky Hitchin Audi, you deserve to go out of business and I heard from a lot of wealthy people I know in Hitchin who say the same thing about you. You'll see me passing your dealership each day, I'm the one in the bright red one that doesn't have your name on the bottom of the registration plates.

I fully understand re a factory order, but I can't believe with so many stock cars in the network, not one single dealer will do a 'deal' for you on a stock car?!? I know we're now out of the quietest time of the year for them, but surely there must be one. I really do think this comes back to 'right place, right car'. A dealer who's had it in stock for a while (3+months), needing to shift it to hit targets. With that in mind you're prob going to have to compromise on spec a bit.

If you want I'll happily ask the dealer who supplied mine if he'll do another 'deal', this time for you? I know for a fact he still has this Riviera Blue one in stock that is new and unregistered (ignore the fact it's on the UCL, it defo is new and unregistered and in a showroom) http://www.audi.co.uk/used-cars/used-ca ... 72026.aspx

Damn, why do I keep on getting drawn back to the soon to be legacy B8 RS4?

A local dealer has offered me an in-stock unreg car with 15% discount and my desired sports exhaust + 20 v spoke spec...it's either this or an RS3.

No Sports Pack, so normal steering, not Dynamic. Just seems odd to me to do this and then pay over £1k for the 20" wheels, but that's just me as I know some people don't like the Dunamic steering.

Also I noticed the option for 'Leather 3-Spoke steering wheel' is ticked. does that delete the standard flat bottomed wheel?

Yeah, the wheel situation is pretty far from ideal and I'm going to confirm that's really on the car. It would be gash so I'm hoping it's an error.

The situation with the sports pack is that I just don't want drc or dynamic steering. That's how I'd spec it.

They also have a sepang blue one.

I very much doubt I would be interested in buying an rs4 so late in production with some other company's bringing out new models that seem more interesting,I love the b8 but the trouble is every time I get back into it after driving the mrs A45 it's just makes me realise how crap the steering feel is.
