Personally,

I would recommend a TX-P55VT65B - easily the best in class for picture quality.

Hope that helps.

I have been round and round and fecking round trying to find a decent TV. Sent a few back. Was horrified by some of the 4k ones. I could show you photos of clouding that would make you cry.

Anyway, the only TV that you can currently buy that isn't complete crap or £10k plus is the LG OLED. It's what I ended up with and it's AWESOME. I chuckle everytime I watch something with any dark scenes.

Die LCD tech. Bring on proper technology for TV.

They are awesome, but gone the way of the dinosaurs. Smothered by the ubiquitous and cheap-to-produce LCD TVs.

Oh,

Apologies for that, it has been three or four months since the last one !!

Done a dozen or so for people, superb bit of kit - AVForums will robably throw one or two well loved ones up for sale, save yourself a grand to spend on decoke !!

It is the TV I bought 12 months ago. Stunning bit of kit. I was determined to get a big plasma screen before they ceased production. No regrets at all.

I wish I had. I missed the boat by just a couple of months. The only VT I could find were ones that had been kicking around Richer Sounds, beaten up and scratched to buggery that they were flogging without box or remote controls for a miserly 10% discount.
