You mean I have to fit it myself or wait?

I'd have trouble changing the wheel :D

I wasn't fecking well asking YOU weather I should buy an M3 or spend on the S3 in fact its feck all to do with you, that is the question I am asking myself.

YOU were the one who started this thread saying it had all gone quite.

I will spell out my question for you

DOES PUTTING A BIGGER TURBO AND MANIFOLD ALLOW HIGH BOOST ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE REV RANGE.

It was a topic for descusion - do other people agree that the "power" band is very small.

Its is simple question that someone else has now answered. Thank you to them.

I believe when I spoke to them the other week they said something about a A3 1.8t quattro being ready (a development car)?

This thread was originally posted in July 2004......things were quiet....then.

Its that long ago that I dont even have the bloody car anymore.

I've just read through it and almost all the answers to your questions are in this thread, you dont even need to use the search function.

So you've basically got the hump cos I didnt type it all out again, especially for you, perhaps you'd like me to change the font and colour to a more agreeable format? Or fax it to you for your convenience?

Like Ben said, there has been a lot of discussion about big turbos,my cars spec, other peoples mods for their S3s, options for tuning etc on this forum.
I've always done my best to answer any questions about the work I've carried out on any of my cars past or present, you come on here with a handfull of posts and enough attitude for twenty users.

Maybe you should buy another BMW,I'm starting to think that there are aspects of BMW ownership that suit you down to the ground......(did someone mention something about pricks and hedgehogs?)

I love the dry sarcasm of this thread !!!
@bjacks, know what you mean about the likes of AMD etc having low down grunt instead of top end power. Got a Superchips file in my S3 which gives good low end and mid range but doesn't keep it higher up. Freinds got a Jabba LCR which just pulls away at high speeds. Was thinking maybe all that boost low in the rev range was sending intake temperatures up and the ECU pulling the timing back , therefore losing top end power. Or maybe the file is just written that way? Thought about a FMIC , but not sure this would help. What do you think everyone ?

So, although Jabba advertise the 4WD 365bhp conversion, they haven't actual done one ????????

My APR jump from 210bhp to 265bhp was great (+55bhp), so another jump from 265bhp to 365bhp (+100bhp), will prob make me explode in excitement :biggrin3:

Yes maybe you are right pricks generaly are people who have things that others don't. Maybe a standard M3 will be better. But having said that I think I have just watched layer cake and I think I fancy an RS6. Thanks for helping me with that decision. An RS6 it is. After all, why spend cash doing up a peenut to make it look like a walnut when you can buy a coconut instaed.

Chears VST!

To be fair mate, I have in the past used the search and read most of VSTs posts. Most of it makes very good reading. If you like your S3 then I'd give it a go. Could do a lot worse. Big turbo S3 is a different beast to a mapped S3 altogether !

They've been on their website for a VERY long time, so even if they have a car now (which I'd be interested to hear validated) they certainly were advertising it without having done one... but hey, that's marketing :-)

Just a thought but isn't the real issue at the beginning of the thread 'real' custom tuning.
I mean that VTS having Peter Link remap the car is IMHO a different experience from a straight forward chip replacement by anyone in the UK. Different cars respond to generic chips differently hence the variety of views about the UK tuners.
