So after 4 months
Re: So after 4 months
This is where the car is great. I was on the a34 on boxing day in the pouring rain and came up behind a 991 4s in the outside lane. We were behind a car and when that moved out of the way the porker nailed it, I didn't change down and so lost a bit of ground, but after half a mile he came up behind a slower car, this time I thought I'd be ready so into 4th and again he nailed it, I sat right behind him - he twitched on the corner and then indicated and moved over and I went past at full chat in 5th. Bet he wasn't expecting that - made me smile

In tests shortly after the Milltek became available for the B7 there was a LOSS of 4bhp.RS4_Ollie wrote:miltek or similar is supposed to add 20-30hp isn't it?
Gains come from remapping and cat removal NOT from fitting a Milltek.

The RS4 is all about usable performance even in foul weather conditions, plus luggage space (especially if you have an Avant) and comfort.
I've always got bored with cars within 6 months, but I've had my RS4 from new in July 2006 and I'm going to run it until it's rust - it still makes me smile every day I drive it.

Re: So after 4 months
After having mine for about 6 months and about 1500 miles it hasnt set my world on fire, it sounds good with the revolution intake and tubi exhaust but its not very big, its pretty poor on fuel and its not all that fast. I'm weighing up the idea of spending a few grand at MRC or just chopping it in for a supercharged range rover and another weekend toy

Re: So after 4 months
I am another that generally changes cars quite often but this has been with me for a few years now. Have spent a lot getting it right but in my eyes really worth it as I love the looks, power and practicality. I have to admit when I first got it the car was unmodified and I was underwhelmed by the power. Stage 2 really made it what I was expecting of an RS4. Then as I dont drive the car much with the carbon build up it began to feel really slow over time and was very close to selling and moving to something else. After the carbon clean and few bits at the same time I am really appreciating the car again. Mine was pretty clogged up so it feels like a totally different car. Pre having that done I was driving to Le Mans this year and was struggling to keep up at times with the other cars in our convoy....I took mine on a track couple weeks back after the clean etc and it was well up there. I would say get the car checked out. I have had a lot of performance cars and for power this is on par with a lot of the others I had for me...as well as a big boot and grip in the snow

Re: So after 4 months
read a members build page, i have one that has a few perormance bits done, that will give you ideas on upgrades
i love the RS its an awesome car that is hard to beat without spending big bucks imo

Re: So after 4 months
I am another one that usually gets board of cars and changes every 6-12 months. I've had my RS4 for around 4 months too and I can honesty say it's the best car I've owned so far. It's my 4th S/RS Audi and I've had a couple of different performance cars in between. It feels special each time I drive it and it always puts a smile on my face, there really is something special about the RS4, especially with some MRC tweaks added. I think it will be a hard car to replace come the day.
Re: So after 4 months
I agree with the comments made, but I think the RS4 is big cruiser that can do huge speed and also corner like its on rails. I also have an Astra VXR running circa 300bhp and in a straight line
it would give my RS4 a scare, but only in the dry. The acceleration from the RS4 is immense for the weight of the car, plus the grip from the quattro is unreal.
The RS4 ticks so many boxes in standard form, in my opinion I don't think another car out there matches it for the price.

Re: So after 4 months
+1 to the above, sure some high powered hot hatches go well in a straight line and in the dry,but I like a car that's quick whenever I want to go quickly whatever the conditions,I also like a quality motor,I simply couldn't have a focus or such like as my best car,I did that in my escort cozzy days when they were special motors.Standard I don't rate the power of the RS 4 you need to spend a bit to make em fun, standard mine would of gone years ago!
Re: So after 4 months
Im looking into a few ideas .

Re: So after 4 months
I love hot hatches but the RS4 can be driven at very high speeds for long periods i.e. 120 to 160mph+ on the Autobahn to and from work in Berlin for hours on end. I wouldn't fancy doing that in a hot hatch.
