Drive train slack

Post by RS4_Ollie » Thu Nov 27, 2014 6:35 pm

Hi,

I have a bit of slack in the drive train when I'm creeping along in traffic unless I modulate the clutch in and out I get a bit of jerking through the car. So I guess its either my engine mount or the gearbox mount.

Is one more common to go than the other? cars done 65K. gearbox mount looks easier to change

Cheers :beerchug:

There is also a torque mount & diff mount to consider as being worn.

Torque mount sounds likely then. Where abouts is that?

Like others have said its probably your torque mount. Most people that have had this problem find that theirs is split in two pieces when they look haha

MRC have my car in at the moment and will check the torque mount as I've a similar issue - they'll be fitting the rear diff mount as I've asked them too, but worth looking at the torque mount too imo :)
