Itg filter

Post by Baz4 » Tue Sep 16, 2014 10:28 am

Anyone know where I could get hold of a new itg filter, or have the part number for them. Been looking but can't seem to find a retailer that stocks the b7 rs4 filter. Tempted just to get a bmc instead

Or Pipercross - same dry-tri layer construction...

Nice one - it's a dry filter and far friendly IMO than the oiled K&N. Any residue oil can seep down and simply hinder the lower air box flap (if you have one) as the filter sits vertically almost :?

I've had one before but just fancied a change. Was probably poorly fitted but the last one I found half eaten by the throttle body. The rubber rim was left as it should be but the centre of the filter had been sucked out and lodged itself in the throttle body housing. Not good really

Do you notice any difference with the Pipercross, ITG or BMC filters in sound or freer revving ? It's a cheap upgrade if so.

I've had foam filters before on a car with throttle bodies and had no problems, but am a bit surprised that the filters are disintegrating on the RS4.

I'm also surprised at all the MAF failures with oiled filters. Never come across that before with oiled filters on other cars. Anyone know why the RS4 is so susceptible to this ?
