I have also had really good service from Sky insurance in the past and have in fact been insured with them constantly for the past 4 years.
They used to be known for specialising in Japanese performance cars as my first foray with them was with a Honda S2000 but sine then I have insured a Z4 3.0 and an E46 M3 where they were about 300 pounds more competitive then Adrian Flux. When I finally find my Black RS4 Avant B7 with Black optics pack, buckets and flat bottoms wheel, I will be calling them again!

Well worth getting a quote, no silly call centres to deal with and really friendly Service.

Heard great reports about Sky but unfortunately they couldn't get anywhere near the right price for me.
We couldn't understand it as on paper i look like the perfect candidate.

I'm sure they're good for others.

My renewal was due this week;

RS6 Avant 2003, 10k per annum miles, Remap stage one and Coil-overs with Hotchkis ARBs, 39yo bloke, 2 named drivers (one 35, one 65, no points or claims), one claim for me (someone scuffed my car while it was parked and unattended and left no details, hence it goes as a fault claim against me!! Arrgh!), 2 x SP30 fixed penalties in last 5 years (me, stupidly got them in a TDi company car - not the '6!), garaged overnight in a low risk postcode area etc. and I have 10 years protected NCD.

My renewal from Mayfair Online T/A Performance Direct was £767, with £500 excess.

After some shopping around the usual websites I was finding a huge variance between some internet quotes. Direct Line were at £1300, whereas Admiral and Elephant (same company) were at £760 approximately.

On the subject of Elephant / Admiral - a confusing issue was that their own website would not quote for my mods. And calling them directly by phone gave me the answer that they won't cover a mod'd RS6. However if I went through Moneysupermarket.com they quite clearly would cover the mods and gave a relatively competitive quote of £758 with £250 total excess.

These were the cheapest internet quotes, and annoyingly you have to continuously feed your details into most websites to get quotes, which is time consuming.

However Sky insurance have promptly given me what I felt was a clearly better deal at £722 with similar excess (£300). Courtesy car / Protected no claims included etc.

To top all this the phone call to them was easy (a very short wait in a queue) and the very professional advisor there - Kevin - even promised to call me back this afternoon to see if he could help further. Which he did, and it's sorted with very little fuss.

So I must be amongst the ranks of RS246.com members who they can help, and I'm very pleased with the service and the value of package they have put to me.

As a newer development - I've now not been so pleased with this, mainly due to lack of quality administration.

I first of all found that one of my named drivers was not on my policy.

Due to this omission I was not pleased to sign their paperwork until the issue was sorted.

I told Sky about this at my earliest convenience to be told I must pay an admin charge of £34 to add my mother who was always meant to be on!

I did send their documents back to them, even e-mailing scanned copies to them when Sky told me the posted ones had not arrived. I'm still now getting letters asking for the form I have already posts (and e-mailed twice) and frankly wishing I had stayed with my previous insurer for the small saving it made.

Do you offer oem stamped replacement for cracked windscreens, or (like Admiral) only use 'whatever generic glass the repairer gets from their supplier' and then force me source my own screen and then no compensation for the fitting either without effectively flagging a repair claim against me?

Like others have said, Admiral are cheap but when it comes to making a claim they are dreadful. They also don't replace modified parts like for like. Is that something sky do?

Hi Ollie, just wondering who this is aimed at? Just got a quote and its twice the price of anyone else. When I used to insure my Supra with you, you were the cheapest around. Which is a real shame as I don't really want to go with the likes of Admiral/Elephant etc etc.

Sky are a joke 1st claim took over six months to sort out now i have wrote my pride and joy off try and sting me for 2 grand saying that i didnt tell them about a stage 1 remap but insurance company have a note on there system saying stage 1 head ? If the muppets don't know what a remap is and put it down as a head how is that not a declaration of mod would appreciate some contact from you ollie

Chaucer were superb for me with my B7. Very friendly and easy to contact when needed.
