Scorpion versus Milltek

Post by mark758 » Wed Sep 10, 2014 2:11 am

Has anybody experience of either of these systems on an RS5 - keen to get some real world feedback rather than judge on YouTube clips :)
Looking for 'tone' over volume I think.....Anybody close to MK with either system?
Considered Akrapovic, Capristo and Supersprint but not for me, now struggling between these two :)

I think you just discounted the two best sounding systems available for the RS5.

I have had passenger rides with both those systems at Goodwood - completely impressive sounds which got me thinking of an upgrade. The build quality of both was also outstanding. Wanted to go for something a little more subtle to keep the cars overall character - horses for courses I suppose :)

Custom all the way. Better sound, better quality and cheaper!

I went with power flow components and custom piping. Go from the bottom of the downpipes back and all in cost only £700. The guys at Box Hill this weekend thought it sounded nice as do I buddy. Still passes an MOT too.

can vouch for this, the exhaust sounds epic, much nicer than my Milltek on my B7

Can you still turn the sound down to normalish levels though with the comfort setting ?

Selectable valves can be fitted if you want that option using the vac lines or independent selection with a system similar to the capristo. I was thinking about having the original valves put in but love the noise so much I am not going to bother. Had a cold start mapped in and love the sound. The car is a real grumbler at low revs around town and has been well received at two meets now.

This exhaust is the best of both worlds IMO. Great low rumble, no drone and really inexpensive. It's win, win.

It's settled nicely now with a remap buddy. Will pop by at some point for another run out in it
