he doesnt care about ceramics he wants red calipers|

30 miles on the car is fine, do you think they hover it on and off the transporters and dont test it once built?

your buying a 90k car and dont have a private plate?

when the 2016 car comes out, your will be old hat, so who cares.

but in your defense if you ordered red calipers and a 15 plate then thats what you should get,

cancel the order and order from another dealer

Not really going to be old when 2016 comes out looks the same mate just gonna be headlights slightly different and tailights. It's mainly the shape of the like inside the light and completely agree if they're not bothering giving you anything just order a new one. But it's had for us to understand as he works on and off as he mentioned and he's waited a fair while with excitement and on collection this happens down to you mate.

A quick update:

Garage manager now dealing with the issues (my wife went to the dealers and refused to leave until they started talking sense!)
- he contacted me just now it confirm they will retrofit factory supplied red calipers :jump_clap:
- pretty much given up on the MY15 issue- this car is a keeper so at some point it will become an "old" model. I was arguing this issue on principal as the car delivered was contrary to what I specified and they knew this would be the case back in May. :bash:

I hate to sell out my principles like this, however dealer also informed me that the order book is closed/about to close so they couldn't guarantee me a car anytime soon. Fed up waiting as it is, so might as well just take it on the chin.

Can't wait to take ownership of my first RS :kissmyrings:

Manager to give me a further update tomorrow.

I would insist on documentation proving the receipt of the retrofit order, what's to stop them having your calipers painted?

I was going to insist on me or my wife being there when they are changed- might be worth doing the confirmation up front as you suggest though. I'll wait to see what the manager says tomorrow and take it from there.

All I can say is, I am genuinely shocked it has taken this long to get a resolution. The red callipers *should* have been ordered straight away, without a second thought.

:jump_clap: I am now the extremely happy owner of an RS6 C7!! Everything about this car is awesome!! Never felt raw power like this before, yet still well mannered in town traffic.

Thanks to some of the advice given by others in this thread, I swallowed a bit of pride and tried to work with the garage to resolve the issues rather than rejecting the car. I eventually got the garage to agree to retrofit the Red Calipers :jump_clap: and, as they had promised, the car is registered as a "64" plate :jump_clap: (still really none the wiser why it had "14" plates on it when we first saw it).
So hats off to Alex and Paul at Glasgow Audi for making me an extremely happy bunny yesterday! :beerchug:

Since the whole MY14.5/15/16??? fiasco seems to be dragging on I decided to let the fact the car was not MY15, as I had requested, go. This was an easy decision given the hassle a lot of people are having with delivery dates and I am not too keen on the claimed new style headlights that the facelift model might have.

I had intended that the car was going to be a keeper when I ordered it, now that I have some 300 miles [and one whole tank of fuel!] under my belt I KNOW that it is my "forever" car! Still getting to grips with bits and pieces but enjoying figuring it all out!

My advice to all those who are being forced to wait, is to hang in there, this is a truly awesome car, supremely versatile and a real head turner without people staring at you thinking you are a :knob: !

IMHO there is no way round it, and why should there be?

Why should Audi pick up the tab if somebody decides to modify their engine and something goes pop?

Chesterfield, I agree with your view regarding the TD1 flag. As I said in a previous post this car is way faster than me and more power is not something I need or would be looking for. That said, there were features I read about where a maximum speed/no launch control/complete engine lock out etc can be set...these are features that I would be more interested in.

If its safety/restrictive features, then that may be something that the audi techs would entertain discussing with a customer. Maybe those techs could even feed it back to Audi themselves and see if they can get an answer. Afterall the maximum speed is restricted to 155, and then just lifted with the dynamic pack, and then lifted further with dynamic plus. So I think it would be easily possible to restrict it at any point up to the maximum they preset for each tech level. i.e any speed up to 155 for standard and anywhere up to 189 for a dynamic plus equipped car.

If it is done via audi or by keeping them in the loop, then it may be ok. But as a volume producer, are they likely to want to get into this? Doubtful. I believe the blanket approach of "ecu modified = no warranty" would be the standard response. Regardless of whether those modifications actully did anything at all that could harm the car.

Just not worth the hassle imho. if the standard RS6 isnt quick enough, then Id just get a lightly used GTR as well, its probably only going to cost what an engine replacement and rebuild would on the RS6.

Apologies that they are only pictures of the "Old Model"...but hey if you think that all this car is about are the Lights and the MMI then you really need your head looked at IMO :bash:

[red calipers are to my taste, so be gentle with me!]

Red callipers look excellent IMHO. They hint at the performance of what to the unassuming would be a regular Audi estate. Think that may be another option to be added second time around in mine. Very nice indeed.
