JHM Tune

Guys,

Assuming everything goes well with the clutch, i am ready to remap the ECU.

I got in touch with MRC, but regretfully they declined a remote tuning, given the nigh ambient temps in Greece.
So i am compelled to fin sth else and have been thinking of JHM.


Obviously would expect a discount over what i would get from a custom tune at MRC, but this is the only option (remote tuning).


Any opinions about JHM? Has anyone tried it?

APR has a tune as well but it doesn't have the launch control feature. Everyone here that has a JHM tune has been very happy with it, noticeable power improvement and the launch feature that consistently launches car for racing. I plan on ordering JHM tune after my custom exhaust.

wouldnt touch apr maps from what ive read, jhm are good but i dont understand how the can be specific to each car, they claim the car learns your mods but im uncertain

I spent some time speaking to local custom tuners and on here and Audizine, if I lived in the UK, MRC would be my choice!
After calling JHM and chatting to them via IM on their website it's going to be JHM for sure

It's a adaptable tune, can be done over the web, has launch, can handle my decat DPs and custom exhaust and handle my deflapped/port spacer flap removal
Plus they remove the torque limits in the first few gears, which my local tuners didn't seem to know about

It's all about experience of the platform so go with that I would say

It' s good to read that at least one of the two most respectable tuning offers ( JHM and MRC) can be installed remotely.
The car being my daily driver and not a track day vehicle, i am not looking to get 101% of what it can deliver, just sth that resembles the claimed 420 (which we all know it is not true).

My only concern is that given our high ambient temps (summer btw 35-40 C) some caution is required as the car will def pull timing. I know I can't avoid that. I just don't want the engine to suffer. Perhaps the use of two maps is required....?

rick join up on audirevolution and pm count von he is jhm's calibrator, he will answer any questions you have about the tune.

in your location i would go with jhm without a second thought, california must get quite warm from time to time.
the fact that mrc dont do remote tuning leaves you little choice. again pm count von he will tell you all about the tune and its safety features.

I talked to Ben, who in turn had talked to Minhea and the latter expressed his concerns that a remote tune due to ambient conditions won;t be safe.
However they did say that if I was to drive the car there, they would be more than happy to do it.

Now I am thinking, what is the point assuming you drive to the UK to tune a car there and then have the car operate in totally different conditions? How is that different from a remote tune?
