Thinking of leaving the tribe
Thinking of leaving the tribe
Well….. This misses is expecting our first, I now drive more than 15k a year the car is coming up to 100k, It will need new brakes all round within the next 8 months and i'm just worried about having a slightly older car and the things that could go wrong.
Im going to drive a C350 AMG Sport today, the 6 sec to 60 is going to feel sluggish but in the real world its pretty good, and the 50mpg will make my local garage think i've died. The plan in my head is to maybe do this, have the 'sensible option' until I can get a B8 RS4 when they are nearer my price range.
I'm not sure that I will be able to do it as I still get in the RS everyday, smile and enjoy wherever I drive to, not sure it would be the same in a diesel.

Diesel = the fuel of the devil

Gone: 2006 B7 RS4 Avant (Phantom Black)

The devil just called. He wanted to stress that he wants no associations between himself and diesel, LPG or electric cars.PetrolDave wrote:Diesel = the fuel of the devil

So that confirms that it's true then - a denial is always proof positive when there's something to hidestu wrote:The devil just called. He wanted to stress that he wants no associations between himself and diesel, LPG or electric cars.

Oh my god !
Diesel, the fuel of the Devil and the smell of hell when women splash diesel all over the high octane pump handle when your filling your performance car up. Urgh !
Don't do it, keep the RS4. It will become classical.
If it breaks fix it, do preventative maintenance.
Much cheaper than a new car with a clitoris hand brake and interest payments.

SQ5? Might as well go the whole hog and get a RSQ3 and be dead to the world.

SQ5 is genuinely decent car if you want a family car with decent mpg

I bought my RS4 BECAUSE we were expecting our first...
And it's been an absolutely bloody perfect family car. Does all the practical stuff but still a joy to drive and all fun when it's just me. Keep it - the costs of selling, buying something new, interest and depreciation will be a lot more than looking after an rs4 on 100k...

The rs4 is a wonderful car. Had mine for 7 years. Sold to my brother so it is still in the family. I agree it will be a classic.

Re: Thinking of leaving the tribe
The evidence of the danger of diesel particulates has been around for many years, but governments and the industry have done their best to suppress the scientific papers and other reports that prove it. Not only are the small particulates potentially carcinogenic but they also cause/aggravate many respiratory diseases and problems.willywonker RS4 wrote:didn't you hear yesterday the government have admitted that they got it wrong with diesel cars, they now saying they are more damaging to the planet
Lean burn petrol engines cause less harm to humans (and other animals) than even the most efficient DPF equipped diesel engine.
