1. Mileage - It is perfectly normal. Any brand new RS (and '8) I've driven has had 30-50 miles on it - including ones that I've watched come off a transporter, still wrapped up. Q5 come with sub 10 miles, including most of the A range. In fact, the last C7 RS 6 that arrived had thirty something miles, too. That was before PDI, and straight off the lorry, still in wrappings.

2. MY14/15 - Agree with Wildbore.
The RS6 is still being built at MY14 specification. MY15 has not yet even been announced and - at this rate - you won't be able to even specify an MY15 car (built for delivery next year) until late this year or even the beginning of next.
3. Red brake callipers - These are a cost option, are these on your order form? I wouldn't be happy with them being painted. Anything short of them supplying brand new red callipers from the factory is unacceptable IMO, especially as it is a £400.00 odd option, on a £90,000 car.

4. Registering the car - While it will make little to no difference to the value of the car, and shouldn't be an issue if you're planning on keeping it. It is frustrating, were you not sent or called in to sign a confirmation of registration details? Get the dealer to confirm if the car has been registered, this seems really peculiar if you'd agreed Sept. Maybe it is a genuine mistake from admin, was your salesman/woman aware you wanted it in Sept? It wouldn't be the dealer trying to hit quota as someone suggested, it doesn't work like that.

Try and work out a solution with the dealer, callipers can be retrofitted (not painted), and the plate won't really have much bearing on future value, so, see what they can offer you and start to enjoy your car a month early.

The dealer has not treated you well here.
For me its clear ; certain things you had stipulated at time of purchase, and which were a condition of sale, have not been carried out. The registration of the car is really poor and they're clearly hoping that 'you wouldn't notice/mind that much'. The calipers ( and painting of ) is just rude. We are talking of an £80k+ car here, right ?
FWIW, I would be exactly the same in wanting everything perfect for such a one-time, dream car purchase. The relationship with this dealer would have ended for me already and salvaging something going forward would be of no interest.
Hope you get it all sorted

Thanks for all, we'll almost all :bigblink: of the replies. Still waiting on them getting back to me. Like I said the car has '14 plates front and rear- mind you no road tax was visible- my wife didn't get a full answer as to why the plates were fitted except for some mumbo jumbo about it being required to ship it to the garage! That is not how registration works and indeed if it was the case surely they could have used trade plate rather than screwing (not Velcro) a set of plates on. so some more answers needed from the garage to get the true picture- will be extremely P'd-off if they make me wait until Monday! I have numerous emails with my sales guy about the spec and that it was to be a 64 plate. Any rush to get the car here was on their part. I am only buying the car for myself, it is not so that others drool over it or to make the neighbours enviousI I had spend a long time trying to decide on every option, agonised over the colour and had the look all planned out in my head- I am sure some on here can relate to this- extras are more than just about the money or bragging rights! To be perfectly honest if it had come with ceramics fitted then I'd be just as annoyed even if they were for free. My choice of extras had more to do with the look (a personal thing) e.g. I would have loved HUD but the current execution is not pretty,IMO, and would have just annoyed me! Fingers crossed I will hear something more positive today!

Agreed re the HUD, that's why I've not opted for it.

Anyway, have you spoken to the dealer principle and/or Audi UK? I would be going well above the sales guy at this point, you're also more likely to have a sensible discussion over how to move this forward.

I cannot imagine they'd be best pleased.

The excuse for the VRM installation is blatant beclouding, I'd be pretty angry about that but then again I'm angry about everything.
No matter where you go, there you are.

If I'd waited specifically to collect ANY car on the 1st Sept on a 64 and I found it was sporting a 14 plate I'd hit the roof, let alone a 90k RS6!

The bizarre thing is that, apart from the car arriving with the wrong wheels on it, I cannot think of a factory-fit option that can be more easily retro-fitted to the car with no detrimental effect whatsoever than these red calipers. If the dealer omitted them from the order it should be feasible to have them on the car by early next week. The real thing, that is, not a half-baked bodge with a can of paint.

I'm with Bam. The fact you have held out for this to be your 'forever car' is enough. At £90K, it simply has to reflect verbatim the specification you paid for. Reject the car.

Forgive my ignorance but could Audi UK not just make the call to the factory to get a set of OEM red calipers air freighted over to be fitted in the dealership? Surely it's just an unbolt, remove old, fit new, rebolt all done before collection date or am I missing something? No need for paint, OEM fit and finish. One problem/issue off the list.

Don't know what of anything can be done about the registering?

However

Tell them unless they retro fit OEM red calipers and a discount/free servicing or similar...or even extended warranty for four/five years if it's a keeper?...you will reject it simples.

You've got them by the balls...don't back down.

As most if not all have already mentioned. If its just the brakes then keep the car get them to retrofit them or then no, also as Chris mentioned its there fault a major cock up on your dealers behalf so get everything out of them you can. I would want red callers retro fitted free servicing and extra warranty not out of greed but of there sheer ignorance weren't they listening to anything you said. It's the car you want with a slight adjustment the one you dreamed and pictured of and you can enjoy it early. Don't worry about the mileage balls in your court and Audis squealing your choice mate.

I'd say reject it tbh, sounds like the dealer doesn't really give a <beep>. If the grounds are there then do it. Get the car you ordered
