Well done for sticking with it.

To be honest though, I'm not that keen on the colour coded diffuser surround, gloss black would have been better I think.

Yeah, I neglected to inform the body shop about that so he painted the whole thing. As I mentioned in an earlier post here, the more I think/look about/at it the more I'm thinking it just don't work.

Sorry, I didn't mean to rub it in as I hadn't seen it posted in an earlier comment.

No worrys Sam. Part of the good stuff on a forum is garnering people's opinions :) Also to that end, I was thinking matt black but now you mentioned gloss black....... How'd you think that'd look with the matt black rear grill? Then there is satin black lol.

New issue. It looks as though the O2 sensors are tripping the engine management light intermittently. Hooked up my cheap phone based OBD but will get VCDS on it later. On the face of it seems to be wiring as I clear it and it's fine for a while then comes back.

I have now found that its a hot start thing. I can start from cold np, warm through and leave it off for 20 mins and is fine. Stop it and start it again within a few mins and it trips.

At MOT now and not entirely confident :(

Waking the dead again.......

Still got the loose back end (all that earlier about tyres etc). Spoke to the Scooby guy who rents a unit opposite me. I was mentioning bushes etc. Turns out one of his old apprentices is now at Audi Maidstone. He had a word, to recap I had the car up on stands whilst I had the wheels refurbed. He said that I need to measure the distance from the ground to each of the wheel arches to check the DRC is ok and the kicker "We have had many RS's with DRC up on the ramps for a few days and often they need DRC system de-pressurised"! So when I get the car up the yard I shall check..........

De-pressurised sounds like another term for 'air in the system', this was a common issue with DRC on the C5.
The rear-end would always look sky-high as it was lighter. It can cause all sorts of issues but most notably toe out and neg camber.
I'll post a pic of mine with it freshly re-pressurised and a buttload of air in the system, it was blown up by Camberley Audi, of all places.
I ripped it out for PSS9s less than a week later. Never looked back.

EDIT
I used to have a photo from the front that summed it up perfectly but I cannot find it at present. If you look at the rear wheel, it's actually in neg camber. I imagine with a 40/60 torques split on a B7 it would be an exaggerated rear-end mobile driving dynamic but in the C5 that's never gunna happen, I kinda wish it did.

EDIT EDIT

Found it.

Shocking, ain't it!
No matter where you go, there you are.
