Very little point in having the tyre goo, or the repair foam that I still carry.
I've had at least three punctures and in each case the rim has ripped the tyre wall to shreds in about three revolutions. So, unless you pick up a slow puncture that deflates the tyre overnight or similar, no amount of goo will help. Personally on a long trip I would seriously consider taking a spare tyre (without rim). Most local places will be able to fit one for you, it's getting hold of a compatible tyre that is a pain in foreign places.
