Time to say goodbye to the RS4

Post by spikeyboy101 » Thu May 22, 2014 9:43 pm

My dream car is going to have to go by Monday, probably to webuyanycar.

It's been a great 3 years of ownership and I hate having to part with her, but personal circumstances have meant I needed to change, leasing new Golf R.

Will still drop in here to keep up with what's going on, hopefully I will be able to own an RS4 in the future again.

Keep in touch, the Golf R is a good piece of kit, picked ours up last Friday. Let us know your thoughts when you get it.

 Selling an RS4 to those rip-off merchants should be illegal.

Unfortunate if your circumstances mean you have to but you'll be losing money big time.

Shame... And to that company.
Sprint blue avant with miltek... Should sell quick of cheap enough and make a grand or 2 over what they offer.
Can't be a lot more than 14k
Just try it for the weekend. (Obviously don't know your circumstances and it is a faff selling - so don't be offended!)

really dont get all the members going from an AUDI RS4 to a golf??? there is nothing to give the wow factor.

i know you said personal circumstances but they cant be that bad if you can pass off 5g, thats a decent holiday

as for the car that to me is a serious downgrade

I agree with all of you, really don't want to let he go, but wife is divorcing me so needed to readjust my expenses.

She already complaining about me getting the Golf R even though it's a big money saver, her view is that I didn't need a car like that and a basci fiesta would have been cheaper still !!! Probably spent £1k in solicitor letters just dealing with that.

Highly recommend becoming a divorce solicitor, it's money for old rope !!

Kept the RS for as long as I could, didn't really advertise as didn't know when the Golf R was likely to be ready, being built this week.

Reason for we buy is that the MOT is due middle of July and service is due in 3 months, whilst I'm not aware of any issues with the car I just can't afford a big bill (£25k into solicitors already), finance is up on the car in August with approx £11k balloon which I now don't have.

Refinancing would have been around £350 a month for 3 years, Golf R is £347 a month so a bit of a no brainer.

Had 3 PM regarding the car, which did surprise me, but guess that's the power of RS246 community. Asked them to call me so we can discuss, will see what happens.

Just had txt whilst typing this that the Golf R is now in transit.

Sorry to hear that pal - at very least in terms of the expense and loss of the car.
I won't ask how much we buy offered but I've a good idea. Hope you get rid for a few quid more.
I was half tempted myself as i think I'd prefer an avant.

Good luck!

Bloody hell Sony to hear that. Wasn't having a dig, you don't get all the facts on forums.

A mate got divorced last year and he too was spitting feathers at the cost of everything.

Can the ex have a say in what car you buy?

She can have a say to a certain degree, if I was changing to a more expensive car for example. Hasn't stopped her and her solicitor writing many letter about it, their point is that I don't need such a prestige car to drive to and from the station, it's all bollox and just her solicitor ramping up the costs, every letter that gets sent costs approx £500 combined.

Funny thing is part of her reason for divorcing is that she says I love the car more than her !!

That's why she's so keen to make you get rid of it - she's treating the car as "the other woman" :assflash:
