Ok, finally managed to do some more logging tonight with the timing retardation and lamda items that Morten wanted.

Hey Tony, what happened in the end? You still running this and seeing the benefits?

It's pretty cold here, so the air cooling benefits aren't really in play right now - but it will be keeping my intake valves nice and clean.

The main thing I need to finish the job is a stage 2 remap, but bit preoccupied with other stuff atm. I want to get a map-switching remap but it's £££.

Summer evenings are back, so picking up on some backburner projects.

Made a panel for the WM switch which sits in place of the ashtray. Bought a small piece of 1mm carbon from eBay to mount the switch to. The ashtray door still opens and closes so can hide the switch from view for moar stealth

tidy instal, can mrc do the map on the s button? would like to do this but do you have to fill the tank up all the time? and would you say worth it or cant you say until mapped?

I don't think it's possible to map the "S" button. I asked MRC and a couple of others. I was talking to JBS/Custom Code a while back about on-the-fly map switching via the MF stick. I've not really followed that up though. They had a proof of concept video a while back: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=591490440873070

I put a 5 litre tank in the boot. I probably top it up every 4-6 weeks.

Re. the benefits, I was initially interested in mainly the carbon cleaning effect - but having read more about our cars sensitivity to air temps I think it is, at the very least, a good partner to other mods. Right now, I can cool airtemps by 10C without any tuning. I'm holding off on a remap until I've got the water meth exactly right. I've had an idea about doing direct port injection via phenolic manifold spacers - think JHM manifold spacer with jet mount points - inspired a bit by this..

We tried direct port on my old car and the nozzles were too big and sapped power. Do plenty research (it appears you have) and make sure the nozzle size is bang on

Yeah, nozzle size is pretty crucial with the direct port - although the aquamist controller is pretty clever so you can adjust the gain on the injector cycle which at least gives you a little bit of a window to work with.

Was that the 'charged one? did you also have an injector placed before IAT sensor? just curious. cheers.

maybe, but what about the AIT ? i will have to adjust the timing from the knock values and cancel out what the ecu sees from the AIT sensor

If I end up going direct port I'd keep the single injector in front of IAT, but direct port will definitely need a good remap I reckon.

Any more news on this? Was it completed apart from the direct port addition? :redrs4:

Yeah, been running it for 18 months or so now. Never got round to direct port or remap yet. Funnily enough was talking about it just the other day though. Maybe a project for spring :)
