Left it very late so had to book to stay at the Beauséjour campsite, leaving the Midlands late Friday evening and catching the last ferry Friday. Should get to Le Mans at 4/5am on Saturday. (Will be taking loads of Red Bull)!

Gutted I'll be missing out on all the festivities on the Friday, but at least I'll make it for the race. Leaving Le Mans Sunday evening, overnight stop in Paris, then back home early Tuesday morning 1-2 am, back to work for 8am. Cannot wait, if you see the me in the RS along the journey (unlikely due to my crap timing), wave! :)

And I thought my travel times were bad !!! You might need to hook up an intravenous drip filled with red bull, set it at the same rate as your fuel injectors on the V10 and you'll buzz straight down.
Should be going down in the RS4 with new JC Weldfab custom Exhaust (dropped it off to them today) also need to get aux rads done as passenger side has decided it doesn't want to be a radiator anymore.
6 weeks to go !!!! Yippeeeeeeeeeee

If it makes you feel any better my car has been sat at Audi for four weeks, engine and box out job and will only get it back a few weeks before the race. Just spoken to a friend and we're going to split the driving. Will make him do the French leg.

JCWeldFab system - you will love love love that noise. It's epic on every level. Sport, valves open at 4k revs and it's like nothing else. Jon and Michael and the boys are top top blokes.

Enjoy...

Yes they are, both came out to me when I dropped the car off, they said that they had done a mint Silver RS4 loon with a whopping great dear shaped dent in the side (sorry for the reminder) and they seem to really enjoy and understand what they want to do, aswell as being complete petrol heads

Can't wait soooooooo looking forward to it

Yeah, I recall that shape in my loon side :boohoo: - sorted now, but plenty of pictures before and after posted - thank god it's sorted!

You will love it - and Jon and the boys being like you say, complete petrol heads, their systems always wind up being real works of art. Enjoy! :beerchug:

Been there & done the RS6, plus i don't like hearses & the F10 M5 interior is in my opinion a generation ahead:)

Still got my fingers crossed this one behaves, but initial impressions are it feels all round a better car so not expecting to be dissapointed.

Ah. Didn't think you'd had the C7.

Interiors are interesting, may have had this debate before, but I really find the BMW a bit naff. I don't like that one piece sweeping dash. Merc is OK, but that bloody analogue clock is old fart.

Pah, only RS is Avant.

I haven't had a C7 RS6, but owned a C5 RS6 Saloon for a while (& spunked a load of cash modifying it) Did have a C7 RS6 on extended test drive & personally i felt that although there was no doubting it's ballistic performance, it felt a little more disconnected from the driver than i've found the M5 is. The steering & general chassis didn't feel quite as composed as i felt it should with all that power, however it certainly is a beast.

Having owned numerous Audi's & we still have a Q5 in the family, i just feel that Audi are 1/2 a generation behind BMW when it comes to interiors & tech. Also Audi even with the RS, charge for things that BMW put as standard on the M's. The interior of the current C7 isn't that far removed from our 5yr old Q5, albeit it's still a great place to spend time behind the wheel.

The other vast factor for me was cost as i'm in a £75k performance saloon but am paying half what Audi wanted for a comparable RS6 so it really was a no brainer for me :audibash: & caused my current move to the dark side. I'm sure i'll be back, but like they say, "a change is as good as a rest":)

I'm not a BMW guru so can't comment on the entire range & how they look/feel/drive as my interest to be fair is only in the M (proper M), as is it also in S's & RS's with Audi. Had a 318D loaner & tbh i'd rather take an A3 or even a Golf, but also just handed back an M50D that i had for 5 weeks & that was insane & i'd have one of those in a heartbeat it was that good:)

For whatever reason & i know not why, i've never been a fan of Estate cars & have always much preferred Saloons. If the C7 had been available in Saloon form & Audi had been more sensible when dealing then it's possible i'd have opted for a C7 RS6, but that's not the case so i'll slum it in this M5 for now :bigblink:

I shall also be in attendance with approx 14 others. We're all staying with Team Langoustine this year, which I've not done before, but I understand it is all very well organised on their site. We have a nice little convoy going on, including my B8 RS4, a B7 RS4 & 3x C63's. So if you don't see us, you'll certainly hear us!!

My cars decals were all ordered over the weekend & will be going on the weekend before, just in case I cock it up & need to re-order anything. We travel down on the Thursday catching the 7.20 shuttle from Folkestone & then head back on the Monday on the 14.20.

I can't bloody well wait!! :FIREdevil:

I too am now beside myself with excitement (I really need to get a life)! I spent the evening last night assembling my tripod based satellite dish that we'll use to watch the race when we're in camp.

Bring on the race......... :kissmyrings:
