Timed acceleration runs
Re: Timed acceleration runs
Launch count roll struggling - probably had it set to high and it was slipping a lot through first gear so changed early into second and then it just got grip and went. Give it another go in the dry with warmed up tyres - it hates this weather.

Re: Timed acceleration runs
I'll give it a go later in the gtr with launch on the high boost map figures should be good. I would try it on the bike but don't know where I'd fix the iPhone safely

My B7 would waste that overpriced B8 piece of junk.Silas wrote:That is quick!! Maybe sakamino has some time slips- data

Rite of passage that...previous generation trolling the next gen RS4. Don't mean it of course. I love the B8 RS4. I actually have had a B8 A4 Avant for 5 years. We don't get the B8 RS4 over here unfortunately.
I do think it (gramme's B8 should be a bit quicker. Does dynolicious have a 1 foot rollout option in there? Lots of US magazines do that for some reason on 0-60 and 0-100 runs etc. Dynolicious I believe is US based so they might.

where?P_G wrote:You can see where forced induction benefits the '3 compared to Graeme's time. I didn't think it would be so pronounced.
That comment makes no sense. 1 forced induction hp is no better than 1 NA hp
Good to see you're still trolling the B8 RS4 forum though and yapping about the RS3!
Re: Timed acceleration runs
of course but benchmarking straight line acceleration performance is fun. Nothing wrong with that. Also nice to check how the car is behaving.lengster1 wrote:Any nonce can sit in a car in straight line and change gear, especially a DSG auto,I reckon my 10 year old could almost do it,it's not much harder than his x boxI would be fighting power wheelies until over 150 mph on my s1000rr bmw and wearing a grin I don't get from my RS4.....sorry but it's how it is!

And looks better from the front.

Re: Timed acceleration runs
Looks fantastic, reminds me of the old renault spider but no doubt faster.

It is great and fast but the real party piece is the braking - they anchors are simply phenomenal.
On track it's almost impossible to trip the abs you just press harder and harder.
At Abingdon airfield they have a 'brake' board on the main straight - I use that as a gear change up point.
The only real downside is the aero is too rough for high speed so you do find yourself hitting a wall before other cars but hey, it's all good fun
A good bench mark is that stock, the atom 3 is faster, lighter and more powerful... But over a lap it's generally slower.
Except when driving on the road... It's too bumpy and being so low means no bugger sees you... And you'd be surprised just how OCD you can become over the weather.

Do love the 2 Eleven, looked seriously at them a couple of times over the past few years, fantastic track car, very jealousadsgreen wrote:It is great and fast but the real party piece is the braking - they anchors are simply phenomenal.
