Just paraphrasing Mr Harris "The car had a manual gearbox and only the lightest smattering of options. The beauty of three-pedal cars....."

It cannot be that bad a spec - at a glance body coloured mirrors, black optics, privacy, heated seats, MMI Touch, rear parking, auto wipers and lights (hence probably the comfort pack as it looks like cruise control too) edit - and B&O

The car I drove was a manual and it was quite simply joyous after EVERY car at the Millbrook day being automatic
Heated seats are standard. It does have LED headlights which are about £800.

He also mentions only two settings for steering. I think most Audis have an AUTO option and the S3 is no different. I agree though dynamic is pants as is comfort.

£30k for an S3 a no brainer ! it'll be £10k in a few years

quote="Nickyboy"]In about 7 years yes. So that's about 4 k a year on a reasonably specced one.

I'd expect a 7 year old S4 to go for a few grand more so it appears relative. Trick is not to buy new as I learnt with my B8s.

Factor in the tiny running costs and a used S3 is the way to go (at least that's what I figured out, hence . . . ).[/quote]

Some good Man Maths Lol 30k car - 7 x 4k = 28k car worth 2k in 7 years
