12:50 pm return 16/06/14 Folkestone
I think I picked the wrong time to go out as it means leaving home at 01:30am on Friday morning to get to Folkestone on time.

See you there:) We're on the PH/1st Tickets site & can't even be arsed to pack or erect a tent so paying 1st Tickets for the pleasure. Glamping is defo the future;)R33 wrote:Jesus, that's a painful time to have to get up, and the journey back isn't going to be much more fun either! The weekend will be great though. Shame we can't convoy but you'll have to pop over to our glamping pad for a cold beer as you'll only be 100 yards away. We're in a Blue C6 RS6 and a grey A6 C7 BiTurbo.
Very painful might not go to bed that night. (Will be like Christmas when your 5 years old). Will definitely pop over for a beverage or 2W8PMC wrote:See you there:) We're on the PH/1st Tickets site & can't even be arsed to pack or erect a tent so paying 1st Tickets for the pleasure. There's a supermarket about 10-15mins drive away that we stocked up at last year, we usually buy most of our stuff there. As W8PMC says thought we now have breakfast and dinner served in the camp site so we won't need too much food, just lots of liquid refreshment. We will have a BBQ and a fridge for keeping the meat cold. I wouldn't say I'd recommend it but most people "I hear" take their gas and fuel with them and just bury it well in the boot so it's not too visable. We only have camping stoves and lanterns (for when the genny is off) so only have small canisters. They can be bought at the supermarket though and it's really easy to find and get too even with race traffic.NJMAudiRS4 wrote:Going to have a drive round and then park up and have a wander round, it would be rude not too![]()
hopefully there will be enough wax on the car to repel any![]()
As you are Glamping do you take your own food or do you use the local supermarket, I believe there is a supermercardo of some description, not sure wether to stock up with beer before crossing or see what's on offer on the other side, any recommendations welcome. also do you know of a local facility that we can get a small bottle of camping gas from, as I believe you can not take it on the Tunnel crossing ?
Cheers Nick
There is a bar on site and whilst excellent we spent most of our time in our camp when we weren't at the circuit. I'll have to talk to Brian about bringing in guests because as far as security are concerned if you have no wrist band you're not getting in. They will also be showing world cup matches I think so it will be well worth it for that. One glamping thing I can't be bothered with is a satellite setup so we'll either get off our backsides and get over to the circuit or just listen to Radio LeMans whilst in camp.NJMAudiRS4 wrote:Excellent info fellas, will hide gas bottle under boot (spare wheel area) and get food and beer there saves lugging a plug in fridge around. I think a ratio of 4:1 in favour of beer should be the minimum standard![]()
Doesn't 1st Tickets / Pistonheads have a bar on site aswell (jammy barstewards) if so will have to sneak in![]()
Less than 3 months and counting, also off to Curborough in 4 weeks for a giggle
