Looking To Buy A C5 RS6 - Thoughts & Opinions On These?
Re: Looking To Buy A C5 RS6 - Thoughts & Opinions On These?
There's a sprint blue plus on Autotrader for about £15k, not even worth looking at others when there's a sprint blue one about.

Its a general consensus that late edition models are better than the main run of them, however most 'not so common/popular' run out builds, end up having loads of extras on them for just a few quid more than standard. That's because there items that they cant make use of in any other model, or indeed the replacement model and there's still a few stillages full of them left on the factory floor.longman h wrote:Thought that would be the case but as they were at the end of the C5 production run, i thought Audi may have cleared a few bits up. Apparently not.amanda1 wrote:A plus is still a c5 Rs 6 so they still have all the inherent problems!
This all appears a good deal to any prospective punter , until you realise that a lot of the normal production supplied parts have run short , due to lack of re-ordering as the cars about to be run out/deleted) .
Manufacturers suddenly start scouting round old storage areas/warehouse's/distribution centres for any bits they can scavenge to complete a car .
many of these sourced parts are from bins of 'rejected returns' that never made it back the parts supplier.
I have known prototypes, homologation cars and pre-production test cars to be robbed of bits to complete new cars in a final run ............RIP Longbridge

The manufacturers don't try to order more 'new' stock, as there to busy planning the next model and production line to worry about the remnant cars.
Punters quite happy with the deal he got on the car though, because he just got a ton of extras worth a couple of grand thrown in for a nominal price.
Not saying that's the case with an RS model , but that's how the majority of manufacturers work .

I love the look of your car and the spec, if I wasn't looking for one with less miles this would be prefectthe6 wrote:http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=108416
Box sorted, should mention cooling fan replaced with cam and bits, which was causing some agg but now sorted.
Many consumables (most apparent and prone to grief) taken care of and actually for the niggles, very tidy really.

I would rather have a higher mileage car with everything sorted than have to pay money out after...........these are money pits after all, better to get a well sorted one

I call mine the £1000 car because everything seems to cost at least that to sort it!

In the 4 years I have had her she has failed me 4 times

1 alternator........by The Rules it's due again as they only last 3 yrs!
2 starter motor and battery
3 gearbox
4 steering rack
All the rest has been service items, mods and me being picky.

Do you have a spec list of your motor anywhere? The few posts I have seen/read make it sound like quite the beastamanda1 wrote: No

I've sent a pm for a little more info, as mileage isn't supposed to be too much of an issuethe6 wrote:http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=108416

He seems to have spend an inordinate amount of money on the car

Out of interest what is the life expectancy of hybrid turbos or are they as temperamental with Audis as they are on most platforms?
