Here are my latest figures from AMD before and after decoke. I'll let you work out whether these are from accidentally fixing a vacuum leak or just a carbon clean alone. Car had done 73k and as far as I am aware (looking at all previous history) has never had a clean in the past.
Gone and miss very much

does anyone know the significance of the lower RPM figures used in the RRday vs the latest? 4 k vs 6.5k

why wouldnt they use the same rpm all the time?

They do, it's only the rpm at which peak torque was measured. That can differ a bit from run to run and in this case, a lot if you do different modifications.

judging by the similar torque numbers and the way the power drops off quickly I'd say mostly vacuum leak
otherwise you got a 20% power increase
imo not likely

the power peaks at 8500?

you'll also note the power starts to drop around 5500, the point when vacuum starts to actuate the flaps

I gave my car to MRC with a brief to go over it from end to end, find out what was wrong, then fix it. They found no vac leak. They certainly didn't charge me for fixing one. I think they probably know what they are doing.

Oh, I'm sure they do
the question is do YOU know what they are doing?

if I'm selling a service I'm going to be dang sure the customer gets the results he expects

no way in heck will it increase power by 70 HP or 20%, and raise the power peak to 8500 RPM!

I'm fully familiar with the ethical standards of the motor trade! The numbers are almost irrelevant, my point is with nothing more than a service and clean, on road performance has been noticeably increased.

Fuel consumption seems to have increased also, which would perhaps indicate that the inlet charge has been increased.

Whatever the reason, i am pleased with the results! :biggrin3:

Just read through this, interesting reading!
Where are the common places for vacuum leaks/faults? How do I go about testing the vacuum system?
Seems most people had the fault fixed during the de coke process...

The main reason is that the one way VCR that often fails us under the intake manifold you take off to clean the coking.

Yes, hoping that can explain my low power figure, de coke is on the menu in the next few weeks
