Theres something not quite right about that dyno plot. An S3 should have nothing like 133bhp transmission loss (should be between 60 and 80). And the power at the wheels figure is poor for a big turbo conversion car (207bhp). There is absolutely no way that car is making 345bhp I'd have it tested on another dyno. I don't mean to sound negative but I had the same issues with dynoplots with qst (My car was the 520 RS4 conversion there at the same time as yours) and when checked on two other dynos the car made nothing like the numbers it should. There is something wrong with either QST's dyno or the operator. I would expect your wheel horsepower to be at least 260hp. The flywheel figure is only a calculated figure and can be affected by a number of issues (Sticky tyres brakes binding etc) the wheel power is the accurate measure to go by and 207 is not much better than a standard S3 with remap and exhaust. Sure the torque figure is good but the horsepower is not. Top end that car would feel weak. Be wary out there as there seems to be a lot of issues with custom mapping and tuners who either fix their figures or cannot operate a rolling road correctly. Kim Collins was adamant my car made 508bhp and 635Nm but it never came close on any other dyno (every excuse under the sun was given!) The car never made more than 430-450 hp on other dynos. (£10K Spent for nothing I thought!) I felt I was getting nowhere with qst and have since entrusted the car to another tuning company who spent a lot of time making sure the car was 100% and the map that they put in the car is like night and day the car now makes a reliable 548bhp and 664Nm and feels really strong to drive right through the revs.

@ RS4 Barry,
I see people on forums arguing about transmission losses, dyno plots, different readings from different dynos.........to be honest, its a bit of paper, its the cars on the road performance that tells the tale.
The cars top end pull was one of its most impressive features, even pre custom map, after Peter tweaked the mapping it got even better. I get to drive and work on a hell of a lot of performance cars, own and have owned more than a few, my mates run a wide spectrum of std, tuned and modifed cars, which we regularly get to compare both on the road and on the track,so I reckon I can tell a genuine performance improvement to a vehicle(including mine) the clearest indicator would be the cars performance compared to an E46 M3.
265ps spec, couldnt get near one,pre custom map big turbo, snapping at its heels but the BMs(several different ones, two SMG,three manuals)pulled away after third gear. with custom map......side by side gear for gear up the road, with if anything a slight advantage to the S3 past 120mph...........weak top end indeed
that (and many other experiences, speeds achived in a given gear past a given point etc)is what I base my (informed) opinion on.
Facts.
The car is quick.
It is as quick as I expected it to be.
Does it go like a 330 -350bhp car of similar weight? yes
Is the chap who traded his 965 3.6 turbo in for it complaining about a lack of power compared to the Porsche..no.
I understand from your posts that you arent/werent happy with your RS4.or with QST....well I was very happy with my S3,have been dealing with Kim for some years now and am quite happy to continue doing so.

Try not to tell people what there own cars drive like mate,it aint clever, hell if you want a go in the car hop on a plane and I'll set it up for you so you can see for yourself!

No offence, but when was it exactly that you drove it?Top end that car would feel weak

I have had a dyno run at QST on my remapped S3 (revo not mtm) - I will dig out my charts tomorrow and post my wheel power figures.RS4_Barry wrote: The flywheel figure is only a calculated figure and can be affected by a number of issues (Sticky tyres brakes binding etc) the wheel power is the accurate measure to go by and 207 is not much better than a standard S3 with remap and exhaust.

Okay
Sorry 'bout that one just expressing an opinion didn't mean to offend other parties
But I can't help but advise people that dynos are great but pay most attention to the wheel power figure as the flywheel one is only an estimate. A haldex equipped car should have between 60-80 hp transmission loss where as a torsion equipped car should be 90-120hp loss approx.

hmm will have to look at my own results more closely now. I'd really like to believe the power figures of my car after the RR events but I'm getting fecked off with misreading this and adjusted that! surely there must be someone out there who can rolling road our cars properly and impartially?
