Where are you located Silas?

If there would be enough call for these then if you fancied taking your car to one of my manufacturers I could get them developed.

Ok that's a bit far. All is not lost though as there is another set listed on the same year so I'm checking if those would be the correct ones.

I'll update when I find out.

I think it's safe to assume that from the wonky twill weave in the pictures that these are just wet laid; which would look really naff on a 70k vehicle if I'm honest.

Is the use of pre-impregnated carbon not an option?

You'd get a much better finish i.e.

There is a big difference in the shapes of the mirrors. The angle gives more of an impression of weave distortion in the photo, but you will never totally eliminate weave distortion on complex shapes, whether you use wet lay, resin infusion or pre preg. It's a little easier using pre preg but more costly.

I am currently offering what is available to me but I also have the option of developing new parts too.

Appreciate the mirrors are marginally more complex to do, but more so than the slam panel?

Perhaps you can give people an idea on what the cost difference would be, or would it just be better for potential customers to go direct to the manufacturer?

That would involve a development cost which is never cheap as you have a pattern and moulding cost as well as the cost of the part itself.

Being honest though there is very little weave distortion on the mirrors I've linked. The angle of the photo makes it appear so.

Yes I will be able to supply all of those items.

Anyway, here is the other type of mirror cover:

Are those the correct ones?

No. Silas' mirrors have lane assist - I only know because of asking the other day, so not trying to be clever.

Guy's. I've opened up a line of enquiry with a UK manufacturer who makes these sort of items, they also have the option of a matte finish which may be of interest. Once I have an indication of cost I'll update this thread.

***Update***

This is the reply which I've recieved to my enquiry about producing some mirrors for B8 and B7 RS4's. I think that I'll continue to work with them towards getting something sorted out.

Sam

Thank you for your email. In all honesty we are so busy at present this enquiry is best left at least 4-6 months as we have no capacity to incorporate new products from outside into our development programme

Yes we can of course do whatever is required, but time simply is not available.

By all means send some images through of what is being considered and I can advise accordingly.

I do not want to lead you up the garden path so to speak with thinking we can quickly introduce this in to our range as it simply is not the case at present.

If you can bare with us this kind of duration then by all means we can commence the groundwork now and look at volumes, costings, specifications etc

Kind regards
