If someone is willing to commit multiple hit and runs, with no insurance or mot etc, I wonder if he will fear the driving without a license law. Doubt it.

Good job stopping him. How old was his son?

their bodyshop is shockingly bad.

go over your car with a very fine eye when it comes back out.

I had my old S4 go in there for new front wings (under warranty) and they tried to do mechanical work on it too, shearing off bolts on the injectors - f***ded them right up...

and if only their paintwork was as good as that! terrible match, orange peel, managed to paint the wheels somehow...

hopefully you won't have as bad a time as me mind you... but I would reserve the jumping and clapping until later!

Result for the op.

Harder to deal with if it's one of your parents who shouldn't be in the road.

That is why having a medical would help because it would be the doctor who made the decision. You would then not be blamed for taking their freedom away from them.

It was in swindon hospital, which is pretty tightly packed for parking spots and he was in an old 5 series that was literally scratched to pieces where the guy just couldn't drive a car let alone a car that size. I got back to my car and I was sitting there making a phone call when I saw him pull into the section of the car park I was in. He made a hash of trying to park into a spot and just scraped the front end of his car down the side of another. He had a quick look around to see if anyone had noticed and then drove off to find another spot. He then scraped the corner of another car on the end of the row turning a corner too tight and then reversed into another trying to park again !. I did the same as you - I opened his door, lent in and just took his keys off him, I pretty much nearly got into a punch up with what I assume was his son and they both denied anything had happened. Luckily someone called the hospital security as at one point I had the son over the bonnet of the car by the throat and the security called the police who watched the cameras.
By the look of the variety of colours of paint scratches he had on his car from car park incidents, he'd been doing it for ages.
I'd have been absolutely livid if I'd have come out to find someone had done that to my car.

Funnily enough, it turned out when they checked his records of hospital visits, it'd happened a couple of days before at his last visit in the disabled bays (he wasn't disabled) and that he'd also skimmed another car in the disabled bays on the day I'd caught him that they later found on the camera footage

I really f'ing hate people like that, but luckily for the driving public, he had his license removed as this was one of several cases he had of driving with no tax, mot or insurance. Where that leaves the people who's car he hit, I don't know.
Graeme, Well done you, not everyone that would go to so much bother. Good to hear he lost his license too.

OP, gutted for you mate. Hope you get it all fixed quickly and to your satisfaction. Think more frequent medicals and driving re-tests every (?)years would a good idea for many folk, and not just the old ones. :)

Don't take the Sport name as in sport. Remember they are big cars and the brakes are not going to stop it as quickly as a RS4 infact they are total opposites. The reason why I went to one after my RS4 so I did not compare. Hope all goes well withe repair perhaps you will be seduced by the comfort of the Sport :biggrin3:
