Built in phone
Built in phone
Hi, new to this forum, it looks great BTW. I have a 00 A8 with the built in phone in the armrest but the phone is gone. Is there anyway of getting a kit that will go into the armrest and run my Nokia 6100 phone so I can use the builtin speaker and mic. Any help would be great.
Hahahaa....Nice cheap solution there then...damn stealers !WIL9598 wrote:I also have a Nokia 6310i even if I could get something to fit that. I don't really mind what phone I have to use. I asked a dealer here but they just said that they weren't doing any phone kits anymore and suggested that I buy the new A8

Received an email from mobilefun.com about a simple "Pop-Port" adaptor for converting CARK-91 (Nokias car kit for 6210 and 6310i) to newer pop-port models. As it's an "insert", there's a chance it might fit if your existing kit is Audi's 6310 cradle. Only guessing it will work, but please advise if you try it as it could help a lot of people who don't want to be stuck with 6210 or 6310 models for the life of the car.

Being a buyer for a company with over 100,000 employees, I've been casting my eyes over the employee mobile phone costs recently.
Those adaptors work very well, but there is now also a bluetooth conversion kit now available as well.

Does that mean that we could include a group buy?

Wo! stop!
Hi Guys Happy new Year! - the Audi factory fit kits are not nokia kits, so the suggestions above, whilst exciting will not plug into the port in the car. The Audi kit is "universally adaptable" to "any" mobile phone that they manufacture a cradle for. The Audi Kits are manufactured by Cullmann:
http://www.cullmann.de/htmleng/index.htm
APART FROM new A6 and new A8 - I think these are motorola, but Bluetooth/SIM Card so no issue.
As for kits not being available anymore that's BS. Had a new one in the RS6 just over 1 month ago.
The Old (Curly wire cable) kits are based on Cullmanns SECOND Generation kit. The New kits (without a curly wire) are based on Cullmanns THIRD Generation kit. The available adaptors are on here:
http://www.cullmann.de/htmleng/linefit/ ... obiles.htm
I have a Dual SIM Vodaphone phone and therefore leave a 6310i in the car kit and have a 6230 to wander around with. I swap between them by "Nominating" the Phone I wish to take calls.
The most modern phone I can see on the list is the Sony Ericsson T630.
I gather that you take the Audi P/N into the dealership and they should be able to order it up for you.

Zero Drama
Also keep 6310 (prepay) in my car (reg'd Sep), and just divert my calls to the 6310 when getting into the car. Downside is I have to pay at prepay rates for any outbound calls, but not a good idea anyway (fiddly to dial) and prefer engine sound to chatter.
Boff - Can you expand on your solution. I know you can get 2 SIMs in the same handset, but do you mean that each handset has only 1 SIM, but share common number and billing?
Note on the Cullmann cradles. Apparently Audi specced a software lock/dongle (whatever) that prevents you ordering up a Cullmann cradle that's not an official Audi part. So your going to be stuck with whatever Audi say is "current" - however old that may be. That's why I suggested the "insert" (see above), as it retains the existing dealer-fit cradle. (Don't know if dimensions still allow it to fit in armrest, so we need a brave guinea pig who can perhaps put it on expenses.)
