And I quite like Google Maps, but it's not essential.

Anyone given themselves whip-lash with brake assist?
Side assist and adaptive cruise/lane assist on the tech pack is awesome.

That's interesting to note as I am considering adding the driver assistance pack.
How good is the reversing camera????

Good, although the super imposed lines that avoid kerbing do take some getting accustomed to. The amber lights in the mirror housings (blind spot indicators) are good too.
Spec it, it's worth it IMO at around £1183 ex vat.

I'd agreed. Reversing camera is worth it's weight in gold

Think its now £900 incl vat !!! Worth it when you add up the individual purchase prices.
Seems to be a more worthwhile option than the Audi connect high (which I`m not going to add !!) :nogarors4:

Audi connect (which I spec'd) does have an 'on-cost' of SIM only contract. Not huge...unlimited Vodaphone I pay 21.00p/m for a year.
Like it though...google maps; minute2minute bombproof satnav traffic guidance etc :)

Might go for the driver safety/assistance pack! However I note the side assist is not included in the package price.
How often do you use these safety features ?
I seem to be running away with options now so need to take stock and decide what I can live without!!

Carried away.....I remember the feeling. I stopped at £17k of options.

The Tech Pack - advanced @ circa 1183.00 ex vat (correct in March '13) inc':
Sat Nav with MMI 3G, Cruise Control with Brake Guard, Audi parking system advanced (rear view camera/dist sounders), Active Lane Assist & Early/Late steering intervention.
I would/will spec again.
Which do I use the most? All but the last one - because Dorset has no motorways.
It was very useful for last years trip through France however.

SIDE ASSIST - @ circa 383 ex vat is a must don't buy one without it IMO.

I added most things to mine including ceramic brakes.

Essentials are IMHO:
- keyless entry (once you have it on one of your cars you will never go without again)
- reversing camera (will stop me running over the dog)
- adaptive cruise (again once you have it etc, however in my other cars I now wonder why they don't slow down automatically and get a bit closer than I should before remembering)
- Side assist (you would feel silly if you crashed to avoid spending £300 or whatever)
- ceramics are awesome at stopping but having driven the demo car today whilst mine was in which didn't have them I cant say I noticed much difference sadly unless you are going nuts
- I love the sunroof
- Love the google maps integration via the separate SIM (my phone for calls and the car uses its own for data)
- Memory seats - can't be without
- Love the noisy sports exhaust

Biggest waste of money?
- Maybe active lane assist, I have driven at a dual carriageway corner at 75mph with no hands on the wheel and it went round by itself. But then if you leave it on when you are pushing along on an A road it makes the steering vague around the centre and is quite dangerous, I drove an A7 and A8 with it on and it is the same thing. So I just leave it off now.
- High beam assist, the oncoming guy has already flashed you twice before the car figures out it should dip
- Storage package - really why did I bother
- Reversible boot mat - another waste of £100
- Load area fixing kit - why? I think at this point in the spec I was just box ticking for fun on autopilot

Eek! Lane assist driving no hands! Don't push it as it turns itself off (automatically) if you abuse it....messy ending !

Fortunately it bings flashes red and tells you it turns itself off.

It's still rubbish though!

Fun gimmick and good for showing off with your mates, but not much else

I wish I'd gone with active cruise and brake assist though and will on it's replacement

I recently got an S3 with lane assist, side assist, ACC and pre sense and I really think they are all good.

Lane assist should only be used on motorways in my opinion where it is quite good.

Boring response I will admit, but why is the boot liner a waste? I figured it would be money well spent, especially as it protects the bumper.
