anyone's can rev to 8600. Thing is...would you want it to? I think your piston rings will br crying for mercy after too much of that. The good news is though you'll now have a 007 like smokescreen defense (free of course)
Fook you do talk some bollocks :ban:

Ban... For what. For pointing out a fact? Moron.

Audi redesigned the engine almost entirely, pistons included, in order to support the raised rev limit and to address a weakness the B7 engine had (related) .

Silas, go back to the detailing threads and stick to something you have a fking clue about. Otherwise every time you open your mouth you just fill the forum with the smell of <beep> from the bullshit you spew. You add nothing factual or technical. Just inflammatory crap. Useless. You even have a <beep> sense of humour. What are you good for?

Now go polish your car and get ready for santa pod. I can't wait for you to run 13.3 like a bitch.

I suggest you ask MRC how many of their customers with the rev limit raised to 8600 have had any problems...

The answer might surprise you; when I asked the question (before agreeing to it) the answer was a VERY small number... zero, zilch, zip, nada, none.

Exactly!!after all it's built to be a high revving v8, if you can charge them beyond 600 ps with no problems, this very small mod is a drop in the ocean in comparison.

Mmm ill try my luck again...I guess that many rs4 owners first plugged their vac lines and had sporty exhaust all the time which is ok.......when they fitted their milltek catback how much of a bigger grin did you get bearing in mind the drone inside?
Twice as loud? Little bit up to say 3000rpm loads more higher up etc etc ? As you can tell ive yet to hear one apart from YouTube :)

Guys,

Has anyone just had the precat and centre silencer removed from the standard exhaust? I'm considering this option along with the exhaust flaps fixed open in order to liberate some more noise, hopefully without the drone!

Cheers and happy new year! :beerchug:

yep I 1st plugged my vac lines like you said which is a decent mod but before I went down the new exhaust route I got the misses to do some overtakes in mine while I drove her car on a duel carriageway and it wasn't massively impressive from the seat of another car. I did the same thing after getting a non res fitted along with the pre cats and wow what a difference. I also love the popping and crackling the exhaust makes. the car turns heads now on a different level to when it was OEM and I love it.

That's very popular over here. Guys replace the centre resonator section with an X Pipe or H pipe

Here's a video comparing my totally stock avus vs a phantom black car with precats gutted + h-pipe/resonator delete

If you think threads on here go bad, you need to read audizine - there's often some real venom on there!

Once again, you're talking <beep>.

The fact that the rods hold up and don't grenade the engine with big power doesn't mean all is well and that they can handle it. Your ignorance = my bliss. Good luck silas!
